Trying to remember an old game

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 5:15 am

Im trying to remember this top down airplane shooter I used to play on the computer way back when...Im going to guess it was around the Nintendo 64 era. It wasn't one where you are always moving forward, it was free roam, think Seek and Destroy if any of you remember. The graphics were cartoony, also. I distinctly remember the intro cinematic: This guy was out and about in his plane for whatever reason, and recieves news that his town, and hence his family (wife and baby specifically) are about to be blown up. He races back as fast as he can, but he's too late and sees only a mushroom cloud. So he's crying and decides to take revenge on the bad guys, I believe.

Was it https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Strike_series? A few of those came out for PS1/N64.

Is it just me or do the terms "top down shooter" and "distributed on floppy disk" make anyone else think of VERY old technology?

It was released in 1993, that seems SOOO long ago.

Why is the baby svcking on her boob. Why couldnt it just be a normal portrait?

Also that art is strange especially for early 90s...

"old" doesn't mean bad though, DooM was released on disk & IMHO it'll outlive RAGE

Exactly, the original Age of Empires was released back in 1997 and it's still better then any Command and Conquer game that's come out in the last 5 years.

Im trying to remember this game that i played on a PC Gamer demo disk. It was a shooter and I remember a sniper rifle that used rounds that disintegrates the enemy down to the skeleton with a green aura around it. it was a really fun game and would like to play it again.

Oh I totally agree. Some of the best games ever have already been made and they're still fun.

That's how babies feed.
