Turning off the kill cam

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:57 am

I'm not sure if this is a glitch of not, but I'm posting it here. Apologies if this has been discussed.

After putting 150 hr. into FO3, I've about had my fill of the kill cam. But when I try to turn it off in FO:NV, or change it to "Player View," it doesn't seem to change anything. It says it's saving my settings, but I still get the "cinematic" kills.

It's been suggested to me that this setting only applies to kills performed outside of VATS--the implication being that using VATS forces you to watch the "cinematic" kills. Is this the case, or do I have some kind of bug?

I remember reading the slo-mo kills could be disabled for free firing, but you always got 'cinematic' kills in VATS in Fallout 3. I wouldn't expect it to be any different here. It's just what VATS does.

Thanks. That's what I figured. Kind of a silly limitation--maybe they'll give us that option in the presumably inevitable Fallout 4.
