Two hopefully easy questions from a "beginner":

Hey,
my first mod project is at a stage where the level editing is finished and i want to start with the NPCs and later on scripting. I know already how to create NPCs
and how to add them to a faction and my cell.

My Question is: how can I create a new faction. I ask this because i do not want to use existing ones in order to make sure that i don't break other things (i plan to "heavily" modify that factions behaviours to the player, other npcs, etc).
So how do i create a new faction (might be based on / cloned from an existing one).

And the second question:
is there a way to "hide" objects in my cell? because after adding stuff like lights, effects, etc it becomes a real pain to select other objects that are "below" one of those invisible markers. I guess there is a "trick" i don't know yet... Same problem when i select an object in the list of the cell view. It becomes selected, but i cant move / interact with the object because other, invincible, objects/markers "overlay" the current selection. I hope it is clear what i mean .

1) Object Window > Character > Faction > R-Click > New
2) Render Window > Select/Multiselect > '1' (once to prevent selection, twice to hide entirely, thrice to return to normal)

1) Open your tree in the object window, and find factions. Right click in the list to the right and select new, edit to your liking.

2) Select the object you want to hide, and hit the 1 key twice. it should disappear. To view it again, find the object in your cell view and hit the 1 key again. or you could hit F5, but that will make everything you have hidden reappear.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for those hints.
especially the info with the F5 button is important because that would have been my next question  (i have really MANY objects in the list of my cell and wouldnt want to search for one of them that i have previously hidden).
So this helps me a lot!

Oh and while i am on it, i might have a third question/problem:

my interiors are done and "linked" to each other (level transitions through doors, etc with and without loading screens). I know want to add a new exterior cell to the world. This cell is placed "somewhere in the mountains" so i wont have to actually add it in the existing world. It will be accessed through a small underground path.
So far so clear.
I tried to look in all those tamriel "wilderness" cells in order to get an idea of which objects are used, how they are called, etc, because most of the videos i have seen so far only create interiors like dungeons :(.
But the CK does "weired things" when trying to look at those exterior cells. The list of cells is jumping like crazy (i guess its because of the cell bounds?) even when i move only a few centimeters in the 3D viewer.
and most of the time i don't see those items used to create those cells because the list only says "Landscape" or something like that.

What am i doing wrong? (to make it more clear: right now i am looking at DragonBridgeExterior01 to 04 trying to figure out how those objects like the Bridge or simple stones are called). But as i said, the list almost always only shows "Landscape" and not the actual objects.

Is this the wrong way to create exterior cells? Because for all my interior ones, i used the same "method"... Looking at existing cells, writing down the names ob "interesting objects" so that i can find and use them in the list. Works quite well for me creating interiors...

Note you can also use ALT + 1 to unhide every hidden objects. It might be quicker than using F5 (which reloads the entire cell i think)

For your last question, I'm note sure if i understand correctly, but maybe some things are unchecked in Edit > Show/Hide Window ?
If not, if you're just looking for the objects names, why not double-click on the object of interest ?

That would be to easy ..... lol didn't even think about that option, thanks for pointing that out .

€dit: can i somehow highlight the cell boundaries? so that i can see when i will leave a cell? (like from 0,0 to 0,1)

€dit2: ok found it in the creation kit wiki, hotkey 'b'.
