Two people working on the same mod

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:58 am

Hi forum

A friend and I are currently working on a project, but I never came around how one would work on the same mod (.esp file) as another person.
So how do you do that?

Thanks :)

Send it back and forth via email, I guess? There's no way to simultaneously work on it at the same time, as far as I know (other than just being on the same computer).

The only thing I could think of:

You would have to work on strictly different thing (he interiors you exteriors for example)
Then you wold merge the now different .esp with a tool like TesVSnip

You could use a service like http://code.google.com/ if you want an online repository that you can both access. It's also worth noting that scripts and graphical assets are completely separate from data files, so if you have any of those to work on that could help you avoid clashing.

It is the simuntaniusly working thing thats a problem, but I think we will just have to work on it at different times and if it starts to be too much of a problem maybe we could merge them together, it is just difficult if you are both working on the same worldspace / town.

I did not understand the http://tortoisesvn.net/ link, and neither the Google code, perhaps I am not smart enough, could you enlighten me on the area ;p Does it work like dropbox or?
