ok. I am running core 2 due 6300 with Nvidia 9600GT in windows XP 32 bit. probably the most standard configuration on earth. if I am having CTD, everyone is having CTD.

Problem 1: CTD

When I run across the wasteland and reach an area that needs a lot of loading, suddenly the harddisk of my computer would run like crazy, the screen freeze forever and/or then CTD. This is how I got the habit of F5 every 30 seconds when I was in the wide. This happened 5 times in my 10 hours play of FONV. Annoying but I can live with that.


Problem 2: Keyboard is not working once in a while

This happens for the first time today, for a few times already. Not sure if this has something to do with the new area I reach, or me playing facebook with firefox at the same time. I alt-tab to switch between both applications a lot. Somehow during the game, in the middle of a fight with the deathclaw, I lost the V key for VATS, then tab keys to the pipboy. It didn't end up pretty.

For the first time I lost my V key, I was ambushed by two deathclaw. the V keys come back when my companion went down. However after my character queued up 5 headshots, my character didn't do a thing during the matrix time before he went down.

I think it is the failure of the VATS that stuff up the keyboard.

btw, I just found out that if I cannot load up the pipboy, I press the LMB once and the pipboy will come back up

happens again. cannot enter VATS so I press LMB once, then it suddenly load up like mad. however once enter matrix time, my character just sits there and does nothing, until my campanion died

so after some testing, basically every time the keyboard seems stuck, I click LMB and the keyboard will work again. The problem seems only existing with deathclaw so far, especially when deathclaw charging my non-hidden companion ed-e.
