ugh... invisible walls

I didnt realise how bad this was until I could literally not walk over a flat plain on the top of a hill.

It forced me to use a valley which had a deathclaw in.

Yup, Goodsprings is surrounded by gentle hills and low, easy to climb mountains, between which lie paths overrun by Giant Radscorps, Cazadores, and Deathclaws.

My first impulse was to take the easy route over a mountain between said paths, but I bonked into an invisible wall.

When you start out in Goodsprings, the game offers you a choice:
Head North towards Vegas and get eaten alive by Cazadores.
Head Northeast towards ... That place I forget, and get eaten by Deathclaws.
Head West towards mountains (and presumably a large portion of the map) and ... run into nothing. That area is completely unused and blocked off.
Head West and get eaten alive by Giant Radscorps...
Oooooor, head south on the cozy path populated by Coyote Pups and Bloatflies towards Primm.. where you're SUPPOSED to go.

It isn't impossible to go in a direction other than south from Goodsprings, I've done it before.
But the game tries its darnest to herd you in the direction it wants you to go and to constantly remind you that you, in fact, are not the master of your own destiny. It is.

we know it stinks big time. But be prepaired there are going to be alot of people saying the threads already been made. IMO , Yes its an open world game (just with invisible hallways and walls.) Its sad but true. :icecream:

EDIT thats not really true about only being able to go south I went from goodsprings and headed straight for the cross and worked my way around the right side and got to sloan. My 4 th quest was "dont make a begger out of me". (sadly to find out that doing that quest then messed alot up later in the game ) But i cleared the querry out at lvl 4-5, well it did take over an hour on normal . Just crouch and shoot them hanging on the side of a cliff of rock . standing on tracters works good too. They dont know where your shooting from LMAO

I really hate those invisible walls... they seriously pissed me off on several occasions.

The walls are very frustrating. I kept thinking "I just climbed/jumped up on a place like that." If they don't want me to go somewhere, I want to see a sheer unclimbable cliff-face, not an incline like the one I just traversed.

This point has been stressed, I didn't catch your platform, so the only advice I can offer is get the mod if you play the PC.
