I had been playing(on a PS3) for a number of hours when I set out on a quest into Yngol Barrow, which required a Coral Dragon claw to open a combination lock to proceed further. When I tried to use the claw on the lock, I was not able to use the claw even after I had entered the correct series of images on the lock. I tried different combinations just in case, but the claw was not acknowledged by the lock. After a while, I decided to do something else. I went to Markarth to fabricate a new sword that would take health from an opponent, as I am a Master at Blacksmithing and Enchanting. But when I tried to buy some ebony ingots from Ysolda, my wife in Markarth, the screen for purchasing, browsing her inventory, was not displayed. I could ask her what she had for sale and she would say take a look, but the inventory screen would not display. I tried Lisbet by the gates of Markarth and had the same problem. Which ultimately lead me to Whiterun and Adrianne at the blacksmith shop. There I again encountered the same lack of an inventory screen. As I had been playing for quite some time I decided to save in my Breezehome in Whiterun. The save went normal as usual.
This is where I encountered the problem I am currently having. When I loaded my saved game, it displayed the inventory screen of Ulfberth War-Bear. Apparently I was being attacked magically by him, but he was nowhere to be seen. Even when I came out of the inventory screen he was still invisible, and was still attacking me with magic. I tried attacking him to make him stop, but it didn't work. I tried leaving Breezehome to escape, but was still being attacked. In may attempts to escape I clicked into 3rd person and saw my character enveloped by a blue magical aura, much like when you trap a soul. I wasn't being damaged, but finally, after the attack had stopped, I watch to my dismay that, as the blue aura on my character's dissipated, my character was transparent. Not ephemeral like a spell, but transparent, like when you reduce the transparency of a picture to be able to see what's underneath. I'm not invisible to other NPCs, and still able to interact with my surroundings. It's just disappointing that after reaching level 56, and creating some cool armor and weapons for my character, that I am now unable to enjoy them in their solid form.
I do have another save file I have created, so that I could play through the Imperial storyline, which still has my character, albeit an earlier version, in all his solid, non-transparent, Blades Armor glory. My questions are: Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? Is this a permanent state? Or is there something I can do to fix the problem? Let me know, thank you.
