Ulfberth War-Bear

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:49 pm

He's standing next to Breezehome in Whiterun and never goes into the shop. Adrianne however continues her smithing activities as scheduled.
Is Ulfberth bugged? If so what can I do to get him to open shop? There's tons of stuff I need sold.
Thanks.

He has never done that for me. I always find him in Warmaidens during business hours.

I recommend you leave Whiterun to someplace far away like Solitude or Riften and wait for well over 3 days and then return to Whiterun. The city should reset in that time.

Maybe try talking to him, then sprint into the shop while he is still talking? He might follow you.

Hah, I love doing that. Shopkeepers tend to follow me outside just to finish saying what they were saying. Such polite folks, showing me out.

You could just talk to Adrianne and sell your stuff to her?

Try pushing or charging into him; see if that resets his scheduling.

I've already sold enough stuff to Adrianne to deplete her gold supply.
Ulfberth won't engage in a conversation - he just gives a one-liner when I talk to him.

They both share the shop's gold supply, deplete one and they are both depleted.

I may be wrong but don't they both sell the same stuff and have the same supply of gold. If she's out then he is too, I believe. As for getting him unstuck you could always hit him, you'd only get a small bounty.

Are you sure that's true?

I'm virtually certain I've unloaded loot to her, depleting her gold, then gone inside and sold the rest to him.

I can do this one day, then the next day I'll try it again and it seems they share gold, I'm not sure whats going on.

Well there is a general store up the road. There is also the smith at the skyforge. As for resestting him I find that if I sprint into people who seem stuck they will say something along the lines of careful then resest themselves.
They have always had seperate gold pools and supplies for me.

Don't forget the Drunken Huntsman across the street,

It's why I love Whiterun . . .so many places to sell loot.

Yah that is true but I never seem to go to it. There is also the court wizard for anything magical not armor or weapon related.

It happened on my first game. I play on PC so I killed him and then resurrected him via the console. He then went back in his shop, but never unlocked the doors during business hours. After about ten levels he finally reset and began opening and closing correctly again. It was fine since both of them share an inventory. Only problem is when she would go inside during business hours and I'd have to unlock the door to the business with the console (and they would sell to me then).

Great, thanks for the suggestions. Never thought of the sky forge or some of the other merchants/NPCs
