Ulfric's war axe

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:31 am

I noticed that when I completed the Imperial quest and looted Ulfric's body that he was wielding a Steel War Axe of Cowardice.

As far as I am concerned he is not a coward. What has he done that is cowardly?

I wonder why he was given that weapon.

It...inflicts cowardice, making people flee. Turns other men into cowards.

Ahh that makes sense. Thank you ^^

I think they could have given it a better name though.

Its Irony really, Ulfric, the brave and strong hearted Nord and "Future High King". To find a weapon of Cowardice is just funny. Remember in Ulfric gave up to General Tulius in the start of Skyrim.

Because he was outnumbered 5 to 1 and didn't want to see a bloodbath, according to Ralof. Maybe he figured that only he would be executed.

Yes that is what I thought.

Either that or he thought they would be rescued on the way to the trial that was never going to happen, or was going to think of a plan on the way.

It's just a weaponized version of the Nord battle cry- making enemies cower and flee.

Exactly the kind of weapon Ulfric should wield.

Yes I agree with you. I just think that it should be renamed as I think it is a name that could be easily misinterpreted (I know because I thought that the game makers were being rather cruel to him)

They were probably making a little joke for the Ulfric haters. You know, all those milk drinkers whose manhoods are threatened.

Wells lets see he kills the high king using a shout instead of fighting him like a man, He sits on his throne never fighting in any battles and yet he has the nerve to claim that he fights for skyrim yet the dragonborn does ALL the work so yes he deserves that war axe.

Hehe yes indeed. I originally did a search through Google to see if anyone else had mentioned this and there was a thread on another forum where someone was laughing about Ulfric having a cowardly weapon and saying that it was appropriate for him to have it.

Actually he did not kill the high king with a shout, he used it along with fighting with his axe (Just like how I have also used shouting in battles) He stays in Windhelm throughout the uprising, just like General Tullius stays in Solitude throughout the Imperial campaign.

They both however come out to play for the final battle.
