So umm.... What just happened

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:47 am

So I recently acquired Dead Thrall and I love it. I have been using it all the time with twin souls, so, naturally, I need a good stock of dead bodies. I went on a collection spree and stocked up on bandit Muarders (SP?), Chieftains, and a few highwaymen. Over all I Probably had about 15-20 bodies in Breezhome. It worked out well for a while until today. I was going to do some quests so I went to my home to resurrect two of my mindless slaves I walked in on a horrific sight. It seems my mindless meat puppets had found their second wind and had sprung back to life, needless to say they were very upset about the way they were treated.

as I entered my house I saw that they had already overpowered Lydia, as the was incapacitated on the steps. I tried fighting back but i wasn't very successful. So has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know what caused it so I can avoid doing it again?(I have a valid previous save) I waited for about a month in game trying to get mines to respawn so maby that's what did it. any help would be appreciated.

Haha its cool. I found it funny at first, my friend and I even made a challenge out of it (neither of us won yet), but now I just want to know what happened so I can avoid it again.

That's why I keep all the dead bodies in my house under the floorboards. Neighbors hear the scratching, ehhh it's just raccoons...OH WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SKYRIM. Right. Okay.

And yeah, apparently when you use Dead Thrall on generic NPCs (aka ones that aren't uniquely named) and take them to a different cell than the one you found them in, then kill/un-thrall them, they can respawn exactly where you left them when the cell you brought them to resets. So when Breezehome's cell reset, all the dead bodies you dragged over to there reset with it and were brought back to life by completely unnatural means. I suppose they wanted you to see how inconvenient that could be.

I guess it's part of the respawning process, but damn! That is pretty funny! Kinda feel bad for Lydia.

Brilliant! I'm gonna' call that Plan A.

I'm guessing since Falmer don't fill Black Soul Gems you can't use them as Dead Thralls?

when you move dead bodies their spawn point is set to where they were left at, so after you leave for 3 days they'll come back to life. Gives me a good idea though, bring tons of dead stuff into some town then wait 3 days outside and watch the mayhem.

This refers to the Dead Thrall spell you can buy from Phinis Gestor after you reach Conjuration 90 and complete the Conjuration Ritual Spell.

i have a pure mage level 100 in all magic cept alchemy and restoration (stopped purposely leveling restoration after level 75 it about 86 now)

i power leveled conjuration because im not a fan of ash piles so how does conjuration spells of 90+ work that they dont make ash piles? or do they?

Speak to Phinis Gestor and select the dialogue option that you want to learn more about Conjuration and that should start the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Conjuration_Ritual_Spell quest. After you complete it you can buy the Dead Thrall spell for like 3K I think.

That's Arniel Gane (I get them confused, too - similar textures. :P).

I'm about to do Conjuration Ritual Spell so I don't have the Dead Thrall spell, but you have to buy it - it's not a reward.

Well, you have to do the Conjuration Ritual Spell first and bring Gestor a Sigil Stone:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Conjuration_Ritual_Spell

After that the spell book appears in his inventory like any other Spell Tome. The pricing is affected by Speech/Barter perks and enchants too. :P
