Ummm WHAT?!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 1:48 am

I just walked into Riverwood, casually, like I have done many times in the game and the entire town just began attacking me and the guards, for absolutely no reason, they all just turned completely and utterly evil :S

Now I've killed half of the town and the guards killed the rest, has anyone else encountered this bug? What the hell is going on?

Did you accidentally kill their chicken? They don't really like it when you do that...

I did absolutely nothing, one thing you must acknowledge to understand the absurdity here is that they also attacked the guards.

Nooooooo, please read the previous posts, I hadn't attacked anything since I started my walk from Hjallmarch, they attacked the guards as well. They just went wild.

I did read them, doesn't have to be your arrow, throw one into a crowd and an NPC will just attack the next, then others pick sides, guards get involved and so on. Arrow is the easiest way to get it but any kind of attack even an NPC knocking a bowl into another could work. Or even more likely a bandit strolled by an NPC attacks them but hits the other, it gets taken inside town and so on. You stroll into it and svcks to be you.

No, the 99% DLC is where the whole town sits on the ground in a line and the only weapon you can equip is a mace.

Nope, no diseases, I've never commited any crimes or bad deeds or attacked somebody who did not deserve it. I will reiterate, the town went nuts.

Probably just another annoying bug. Reload an earlier save and try again.

Just the opposite, everyone in town except for the OP and guards were stage 4 vampires.

It was the zompocalypse. Or should it be called vampocalypse?

If this happpened in Solitude it would be pretty badass, someone should do a Skyrim Zombie apocalypse mod, the guards, one companion and yourself against every other citizen :D

that sounds fun but in a zombie apocalypse you get 3 companions, everyone has to have a group of 4 in an apocalypse

Did you drop anything? Shouldn't be possible, but my son dropped some armour. He stepped on it, it went flying, and god knows how but it killed a chicken (shouldn't be possible with the code, but it happened). He ended up having to kill Alvor.

I always favor the "kid brother" explanation. Anyone else in your house have access to the character?

It's happened to me there twice when fast traveling in. Initially, only Faendal is hostile and the town kills him but then they turn on me and my thralls slaughter everyone in sight. See if I try to defend them from the attacking Ancient Dragons any more. Ungrateful bunch.
