I can't purchase the house in Markarth after completing all of the quests to become Thane of Markarth. When I talk to the steward, he doesn't have anymore dialogue options. I'm certain I've completed all of the quests.

Anyone have a fix for this issue? I'd hate to think I spent all this time to get the house and it's for nothing.

I'd like to know this too.

I'm assuming the house is where the burned-down one is at... but they'd need to rebuild it, first. Maybe you need to wait a few game days?

Try leaving Understone keep an returning at another time of day. I have heard of this bug its apparently caused by completing http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:The_Forsworn_Conspiracy and http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:No_One_Escapes_Cidhna_Mine. If you hand over the City to the Stormcloaks during the peacetreaty or the Civil War it should let you buy the house from the new stewart.

Your thinking of Mothral. There is no house in any of the lesser holds.
