Yes altho i love the game.. the bugs are something they should have worked on before releasing the game. i lost 40+ hours of gameplay cause of the DLC bug. and hearing that they probly wont be able to recover the save.. i guess i just have to start over. that svcks.

but then again.. there is more in life then games, i guess. ;)

One guy on this forum claimed to have received an email from bethesda stating that the old saves will not be able to be recovered, This poster failed to provide proof of this email. Aside from that, no official word as to whether or not the saves will be salvaged.

Just for te record. I've had most of the problems short of the corrupt file bug, but I've clocked in about 140 hours of Fallout and I haven't regretted any backtracking. Aside from this major bug obviously ruining many peoples games, replaying this game only furthers the realization of how much variety and depth exists in the game. I typically backtrack 1-4 hours every couple days just to maneuver through the many outcomes. I might go so far as to say backtracking has HELPED prevent major crashes. Just a suggestion.

My girl and I where so looking forward to this game . We did the midnight thing and all. Now I am feeling that what could have been the greatest achievment of bethesda is now the biggest let down of this year ( in gaming). It seems for every awsome new thing that's added, there are 5 glitches. At least with most Fallout 3 issues the game was playable. Damn, I had such high hopes. I do suppose bethesda wanted the game in our hands as soon as we did...so some shortcomings are exceptable, but these are major features being jacked up. I really hope this patch comes through soon. By the way I am new to forum so , hello all, sorry it starts of with me whining

You're whining is a minimum compared to the repetitive rants and prose that people create. I think by the time all of the seasons games have hit the shelves FONV will be fixed and prove to be the biggest and best game of them all. And I am not just blowing smoke as I end up playing almost every major title on the 360.

There was an e-mail posted here from a Bethesda employee (I believe) that stated something to the effect of "if the save file just can't find something that it thinks it is missing, you should be able to load it with the patch. However, if the save is completely corrupted, there will be no way of loading it". So, they're covering themselves by saying you "should" but there's a chance that some saves broken by this problem won't work. Then again I read some people claiming after a few days they tried reloading their previously un-loadable games and they could, so who knows.
