Underwater Effect

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:00 am

I'm not sure how this happened but from what I gathered... the 1.5 patch improved the underwater view. The problem is that after I installed the patch I noticed that when I submerge halfway through the water surface I can notice the difference between the underwater screen effect and above water screen effect but when I submerge fully into the water the whole screen goes brown or blue... is this supposed to happen? I tried to create a new game but the problem still persist, is it conflicting with a mod? I have realistic water textures and terrain installed and I think that this might be the case.

If you can't see anything underwater then it's a problem with ENB (d3dx9.dll file you've installed).

If you don't want to uninstall ENB you can edit SkyrimPrefs.ini and set depth of field setting to 0. Underwater areas don't look good after this though, and you lose Skyrim's built-in depth of field effects.

We have to wait for an ENB update. Skyrim's beta update has a mention of underwater tweaks, but I've no idea if they fix this issue with ENB.

if they're going to patch anything with water in skyrim it needs to be the absolutely incomprehensible exclusion of underwater combat.
