Unexpected destination

So what kind of weird places have you unintentionally ended up in

Mine would be a train trip i took when i was 14, i had to visit my aunt in a small city about an hour away and i was quite tired so i set my alarm on my phone and took a nap, when i woke up the train was almost empty and had stopped so i went out to see where i was at, to my big surprise i had ended up in the major city of Esbjerg which lies right out to the danish west coast, which meant that i had taken the train across the country.

when i look back on it now i have only one thing to say: :run: BEST TRAIN TRIP EVER :dmc:

Me and two buddies had a tank, and we were told to pick up some folks a few miles away. We got lost I think and we just ended up cruising around forests for like half an hour at top speeds. Another time we had a truck and had an ominous objective of reaching a camp ground. No time limits, so we just cruised around roads and villages for who knows how long, at least two hours total I think.

In 1989, I was working offshore Angola. We had a satellite telephone and were allowed to use it once a week. So 2 weeks before the end of my 4 weeks, I called a travel agency to book my ticket to Ireland for the day I will land in France. Then straight to Shannon airport and I will join my girlfriend who was irish at this time and travel to Co. Clare, Doolin. There was a good music festival there.
I landed in Paris. Went to pick my ticket: "Sorry sir, we have no ticket for you for either Shannon or Dublin" "What ! But I made the booking and paid the ticket !" "We do have a ticket for you, sir, but for Reykjavik !" "What !"
I called the travel agency and the stupid moron trainee booked my ticket to ICEland instead of IREland. Maybe interference in the phone. All flight were booked full for 3 days. And my gf holidays and the music festival were supposed to end in 4 days. I then decided to go to Reykjavik. This is how I discovered Iceland.

Recently, I was on a business trip in Bamako, Mali. I needed to fly back to Lagos, Nigeria. But there was no available direct flight. From Bamako to Lagos is probably a 2-3 h flight. So, I had to decide to take the only available flight with Kenya Airways: Bamako - Nairobi (6 h) and Nairobi - Lagos (5 h30) with a layover of 16 h in Nairobi. We were taken to an hotel and I had the opportunity to make a mini-safari. Good choice.

Woke up in some random dumpster in some shady back ally. I didn't have any pants, and I smelt suspiciously like window cleaner. That was an interesting night.

I don't want to talk about it.

While hiking through Peru, I decided to ditch my group and explore. I ended up in a Peruvian nightclub until 2am. Don't really remember how it happened.

OH and one time I went to go pee and found a carving of a llama on the rock I was peeing on.
