Hi all,

I've been working on a mod for vampires to completely change their gameplay. I wanted to make it so that they can feed from anyone than just sleeping NPC's.

In the vampirefeed ability I removed the condition of GetSleeping and replaced it with GetDead so that you couldn't feed off corpses. It was a bit buggy this way though. Sometimes NPC's would see you, sometimes they wouldn't and it appeared to be very random. So I decided to hold off on it for now and put the condition back.

However now, it seems to have created a bug in my own game where I don't need to be sneaking to feed from an NPC and you can't escape out of the Feed/Pickpocket menu. You have to pick an option. (Not sure if the latter was always like that, I never tried, but it doesn't seem to make sense.)

I took my mod off, the bug still remains. Tried a clean install. It's still there. Reverted back to an old save before my character was a vampire and before I used any mods. Advanced in Vampirisim and it was still there.

What did I do? or was this always like this and I just never noticed?

It was always like that. You don't need to be sneaking to feed off a sleeping NPC and you can't cancel out of the Feed/Pickpocket or Feed/Talk dialog

I was wondering where in the Object Viewer you found this "vampireFeed"?
I am trying to modify the cannibalism script to auto-feed from corpses instead of asking you, but I can't seem to find it.

They're both in the perk section (VampireFeed and PlayerWerewolfFeed) unless you mean the functions VampireFeed() is in PlayerVampireQuestScript and Feed() is in PlayerWerewolfChangeScript
