Unintentionally Hilarious Moments

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 7:03 am

I thought I'd share a story of something that I found just hilarious while playing Skyrim. I wanted to improve my pickpocketing skill so I went to see the beggar, Silda the Unseen, in Windhelm. I bought five skill levels and thought I could steal the gold back so I went to pickpocket her but I had a 0% chance of stealing so I decided to try stealing after each skill level. I didn't have a great chance but I eventually was able to "buy" five skill levels. Then I gave her a single gold Septim and got the "Gift of Charity" perk. Oh, the irony. I felt like a terrible person but was laughing for a solid five minutes.

Share your own hilarious moments, bug related or not.

EDIT: I just remembered I also a pickpocketed a ring that improved pickpocketing by some percentage from another NPC just before I attempted stealing back the money from Silda.

The first time I summoned a Storm Atronach was hilarious. When things were killed by the lightning, they seemed to fly random directions. And they flew far. I love the physics.

Also, stealing guard's armor while they're wearing it and they don't seem to notice and keep talking to you normally. The way they don't seem to notice a thing makes me giggle so much.

Heh, she was teaching you how to steal from people, kinda had it coming.

I killed a dragon once in that first little city you find, it died in the street between buildings. The skeleton didn't fit right so it started twitching. Eventually the skeleton was standing upright on its hind legs, but shaking and alternating between standing on the left leg and kicking the right, then standing on the right and kicking the left. Under the skeleton were the bodies of guards that the dragon had killed. It looked like a huge chicken skeleton dancing in the street over a pile of corpses.

Also fus shouted a deer I was chasing while the deer was jumping over something near a cliff. It sent the thing flying in forward flips really far. It was mostly funny because I wasn't trying to do it.

Had a companion launched into the sky by a giant and he never came back down.

And in general, pickpocketing short term frenzy poisons on a guard is hilarious. They run over to a couple peasants and do instant kill animations, then sheath their swords and start patrolling around all noble like nothing ever happened.

Lmao, I love all of those. I didn't even notice you said your companion flew up into the sky and never came back until I re-read it lol. That one is great.
I would've loved to have seen the dancing dragon!

Use ice form shout on pretty much any creature or npc while on a mountain hill and they will start rolling. If it's a decently sized hill, they will continuously pick up speed at an exponential rate, until they go airborne while doing extreme physics barrel rolls and generally flipping out. They will hover in a weird 20,000 RPM spin for some time, and then eventually launch off at lightspeed in a random direction.

I was randomly running around when there was a loud bang from behind, suddenly a horse flew over my head and disappeared off over a mountain never to be seen again.

I cast frenzy on a necromancer and he killed his buddy. I let him raise his pal then cast frenzy again on the necromancer, and his zombified buddy killed him back.

I found this guy trying to resurrect a dead wolf. He wanted to get into the mages guild, but they laughed at him and said it was his staff. I tried to intimidate him into giving me the staff, but he decided to get lippy with me. I killed him, captured his soul and took his staff. I then raised his corpse with his own staff and lead it into a bandit camp to be destroyed. I turned his soul into a soul trap dagger and sold it. Too bad you can't make staves in skyrim, otherwise I would have made a staff of zombies, then I could grant his wish by allowing him to raise the dead for all eternity! >:3

I cast chain lightning on a bunny and it flew 100 feet in the air.

Mages are fun as heck, you warriors don't know what you are missing!

On my first character, I arrived in Whiterun and was told by some girl to go get a Mammoth Tusk. -Naturally, I then thought "Aha! I saw some mammoths west of town!" and I happily trotted off to kill me a mammoth. I believe I was around level 3.

I hid in some bushes to get the double damage bonus from my bow, and then shot.... And dropped my jaw when I saw 6 mammoths and 3 giants turning towards me and starting a chase. -Based on how little health my double-damage-arrow had taken from the first mammoth, it wasn't too hard to figure out that I better flee the scene.

-So, I was running like hell across the plains west of Whiterun, picking up wolves and bears along the way to join the hunt with the mammoths and giants - who just didn't give up! In the end it became so hilarious that I was laughing loud white trying to steer my poor little Nord away from danger. When I finally stopped, a mammoth quickly caught up with me and finished my char in a back-breaking death sequence - and I was back to last save, outside the gates of Whiterun.

This incident is what made my character a thief... as I shortly after found a mammoth tusk in the Jarl's chambers - and once I stole that, why stop there? -So I stole the unusual gem + lots of other stuff, was sent to Riften to get it appraised, had to join the thief guild etc.etc.etc... So there goes. Blame it on the mammoth!!

Whilst doing the dark brotherhood at Dawnstar I kept being ambushed by dragons everytime I fast travelled there. I ended up with 5 dragon corpses piled on top of each other.

So I had just gotten the Frenzy spell from Drevis and was hanging out in the College Courtyard for some good times with a few of my new mage friends and felt like I would test my new spell... just on the ground mind you, to see the effect.

Little did I know the spell is a quite large AoE.

Nothing spells new years like 5 battlemages going apesh*t in tight quarters.

Quite a show, you should go sometime :)

Being a thief myself, many a times I have accidentally picked up the odd plate or bowl in my attempts to correctly target whatever is in/on said dish.

So this one time, in Riften, some random npc thief guys go roaming through the town and are being hunted down by the guards. Guards kill them, I go to loot their bodies - I find the typical random gems and whatnot. I also find a couple bowls and plates. I laughed so hard. Apparently npcs have my thieving problem as well.

I just brought my folks to Dawnstar Sanctuary (Dark Brotherhood) and I decided to leave the sanctuary.

In the moment I leave, CICERO shows up and tell me "You made a mistake sparing me! I am not grateful. Now you'll die!"
But, for my surprise, an Elder dragon was flying and it just stops in my very front and hovers for a moment.

Then I was "WTF?!" looking at a giant dragon HOVERING as cicero spoke to me.

When cicero said "Now.. you will DIIIEEE"

The elder dragon let out a huge fire breath on me and I died almost instantly. So I tought: Cicero is summoning Dragons now?!

After that I reloaded my save and equiped all my best equipment, thinking I would have to survive the first breath of cicero's dragon and kill 'em both.

Then I leaved dawnstar sanctuary and.. cicero spoke with me. the time has come! milk drinker!

No dragon and cicero say: No no.. I was just joking. You should have seen your face!!

I got more WTF and... "Whatever... You got me, cicero. Now get the hell out of my front..."

After maxing out my pickpocket tree I was in the open air market area in Whiterun I think... I decided to steal the clothes off one of the hotter female NPC's. As soon as I do it, I hear the old man begger NPC say "Oh, the Divines bless you!"

Good stuff.

my first Dragon Priest (Krosis) turned into an epic game of tag. I kept dodging between rocks, shooting constant flames & sparks, with him just floating after me with his fireball staff. Lydia was playing to, but she wasn't very good. When Krosis finally died, i used 75% of all my Health and Magicka potions, and I just stood over his pile of ashes, wearing his mask and shooting his staff in the air while laughing hysterically irl. I didn't stop till I couldn't breathe.

I was trying to find my way to Azura's Shrine without having to jump off a cliff and all of a sudden the skeleton of a dragon goes flying down the mountain past me. I guess it was the one I'd killed at the dragon's lair not far from there several days before, because I didn't get a soul....

It rolled on down the mountain and I got on with the rest of the quest.

I was at azura's shrine after having completed the quest and turned the star black. The priestess mouthed off to me, so she got to be the first test of my new gem. After she was dead, a dead horse fell from the sky and landed next to me. I figured it was just Azura letting me know she was pissed.

Reveals Stormcloak spoilers...

Spoiler
I was in Solitude during a dragon attack once. It got glitchy, so I had to spend some time walking far enough away so I could fast travel. I played for days after that, gradually working my way up the Stormcloaks ranks. Eventually it was time to sack Solitude. As Ulfric was giving his speech, I walked casually towards the Solitude gate, and as the soldiers cheered.... the dragon soul absorption animation started.

Spoilers below:

I was towards the end of the main quest, in Sovngarde, where the big Conan-looking gate keeper challenges you to test your worthiness. I wasn't expecting it and, being a thief, got 2-shotted by his giant axe.

So I reload the game and start the conversation again. After the dialog he has a few more sentences to say on his own about challenging me, so I took the opportunity to sneak behind him and nail him for 30x damage. Well, I had forgotten that my dagger had Paralysis poison applied to it, and Conan gets instant rigormortis and dives face-down into the dirt, stiff as a board. Apparently the poison didn't effect his mouth, though, because he congratulates me on my superior Dovahkiin skills and gives me permission to cross the whale bone bridge - all while planking.

"OK, so, uh... I guess I'll be heading in now. You... you keep up that planking. For Sovngarde! Or something." *backs away slowly*

I was in some cave/dungeon/lair and there was some dumb mage walking to and fro, and I wanted to test out my frenzy stuff. He gets hit with it, looks for me, but doesn't go after anyone (I thought others were closer). So I cast Rout, he just huddles in a corner, doesn't run away. So I get angry and reanimate a dead bandit. The mage comes looking when he sees the bandit and the two go at it.

They both die in a heap at the same time, which was odd, and as the zombie died, he groaned "thank youuuu..." Was just funny to me.

I was on the highest bridge in solitude and doing the quest for the dark brotherhood when you kill the emperor and I was making my escape and I shot an arrow and a hawk flew in front of my bow and got wrecked. And I was like ahhhhhhh! You couldn't do that again if I tried

Cheers

The funniest thing I've seen so far was Utherd and I went off to fight a giant, I was being an archer while she decided to run up to him and slash him, she winded up getting smashed and flying 100's of feet in the air, about 30 or 40 seconds later I killed the giant and then as I was walking over to loot the giant and Utherd came falling from the sky and landed right in front of me, she bounced a little bit and then got up completely unharmed, I was already laughing when she got hit but when she eventually came back down I just completely lost it.
Another sort of funny thing was I killed a bunny and then turned it into a zombie so I got to have a bunny follower for a minute, I did the same thing with a goat. Another thing was I was about to get attacked by a snow bear on a mountain, I fus ro'd him down the mountain and he kept rolling all the way to a cliff, went flying off it and landed on the shoreline hundreds of feet below and then got up and died.
