Unique item?

Ok, so I am going to play a merchant character. This will involve my character hiring a body guard and finding things to sell, he will also do smithing/alchemy/enchanting. The story behind this character is that his Father was a big merchant in Cyrodiil, and the Father had a big delivery but he took ill. After his Fathers death my character told himself that he would make the delivery. The delivery was obviously to Skyrim and he got mixed up in a fight between the Stormcloaks and the Imperial soldiers and you know the rest.

So, his main goals will be to earn as much money as he can and follow in his Fathers footsteps and to try and find the goods he promised he would deliver. I was just wondering what other people thought this delivery could be, obviously it will have to be something I can find somewhere in Skyrim.

This character will use little to none combat skills relying on his body guard for protection. He may carry something small to use in case of an emergency such as an iron dagger.

Any thoughts?

I think the key question is what is going to keep you entertained while your AI companion does the fighting (which is a big part of the game). Are you going to use Illusion and Restoration to heal and buff, or conjuration to summon allies?

For some reason I'm also thinking about the pacifist build I saw online. I wonder how long it stays entertaining not to kill anyone?

It is a variation on the Collector Quests, which is good.

Your character could recover the goods that were stolen from the caravan and scattered across the land. You could limit it to a certain type of weapon or armor, or just something from the long list of Unique Items in the game.

I have rolled characters that just collected books. Much the same I made them weak, but this was in earlier games where there were not followers and it made things real tough.

I would suggest you pick up some Conjuration skills so you can spawn some help for some of the fights and Illusion so you can avoid the fights when you want to.

I was wondering how long I could stay immersed with this build but I thought I would give it a try. I probably will use illusion spells such as calm and restoration to heal myself. Any ideas about the lost goods?

Thanks for your input, I will definitely be picking up some illusion spells and maybe some conjuration. I like your ideas and will definitely be thinking about them as I go on.

Spoiler
How about the Longhammer? Found on a bandit, who could easily have therefore stolen it from the Imperials after it was confiscated, and the dungeon isn't easy, lots of Falmer, so it will be a while before you could reclaim it.
