So, anyway, I recently noticed that in one of the many loading screens, there is a dark elf with two daedric daggers (or swords, they look the same) and was wearing Dark Brotherhood armor. I didnt think anything of this, until i got my own Brotherhood armor, and noticed something; the dark elves armor appeared to have what looked like a turtle neck with a hood type thing, while mine had nothing. Is the elves armor a legitimate piece of armor that i have yet to find, or something Bethesda threw in there for no reason?

you probaly cant obtain it but maybe you should try out with a dunmer

they show a greybeard in a load screen but you can't get those robes either....the load screen is loaded with lies

I will try with a Dunmer character, but so far, i havent seen any sort of variation in how the armor looks, based on race.

Nevermind, after seeing it again, yes there is some weird hood-like thing around his neck.
