On the server I play we run on the old Pioneer way of land claiming.

Basically, that means we have a huge landgrab when desirable property is found, and you keep whatever you can build a fence around in one day, and you must supply your own fence.
Then we trade like wool, or diamonds or livestock for land.

Im very rich, because I have a large pasture filled with livestock (but only one sheep :'()

i want it to be so that people can sell other resources like iron and diamonds to the empire, gold is too specific. and the whole iconomy thing is allready becoming irrelevent past buying a plot since no one really has enough money to run a shop (cept for game, that crook) so there is no trading.

To be fair, I consider the arena a community project, since about half of our playerbase helped fund and build it.

I'm still keeping all the profits though.

If a mod happens to be online, I've placed a locked chest inside my mansion near spawn filled with gold. I would appreciate it if you could convert it all to septims for me. Kiss.

Minecraft is now 1.0. Yes?
Do I finally have my goblin villages and dragon lairs. And all those things which Notch promised us during early alpha days?

I've not been keeping up with all Minecraft updates. :P

You have a single dragon.

That is all.

And I've still failed to see my "special" benefits for my donations :swear: :P

@Mr.E, it was 10s a square.

My SSP playthrough has generated some awesome caves, followed on funnel for a while and got to the point where it ended with a 2x2 door way, was eery as hell, as if someone had been there before and mined it into the wall. There have been massive crater that I pretend were meteors, I built my home around one that was 40+ blocks deep and possibly 50+ in diameter.
I have yet to see an Enderman though but I keep seeing their purple particle effect when deep in mines around Y-12 then when I look around and listen there is nothing to be heard or seen and the dust just vanishes if I try to turn and look at it.
The new sounds are awesome when in deep dark mines now, actually creates some sense of fear :D

How will the new map be economically wise?I am guessing use of gold bricks to buy things. Any other implementations that I should know of? Also , am I the only person who plays on quake FOV? It feels natural to me.

I play on quake pro FOV. Skyrim gave me a headache first time I played because how its small FOV.

Also Saurok we have a dragon AND a village of squidward type things which are awesome.

They added Nether Fortresses, which are like dungeons but above ground.

I still don't go to the nether, even though I need materials...

I'll just use my cows as payment to hire a guy as a "Nether Scout" and supply him with armor and weapons to gather nether stuff for me.

Hopefully there is another update soon so that the NPCs actually do something, they just stare at me as I strip their town bare, I wanna see fighting, sword weilding NPCs!

Does the 1000 block radius for Stronghold spawning still exist in 1.0?

Why? Notch advertised Minecon as an event for all ages, and then these guys who are entertainers at the event go around swearing at little kids. It would be unprofessional for Notch not to disassociate himself with them after that.

Also, for anyone who's curious, the rest of Notch's side of the story is that some kid asked the Yogscast guys to sign something after Notch did, and they said they'd cross out Notch's signature and put "[censored] you" there instead.

Lol internet drama, that's all I can say.

As if the Yogscast is going to notice it if even a 1000 angry Notch worshippers unsubscribe, they've got 1.2 million more.

Haha! So the man who posts about "gentlemanly activities" on his blog and makes jokes about sleeping with Simon's mother has a hissy fit over someone using the F-Word?

Oh the irony....

From reading up on the twitter posts by Notch and comments from TotalBiscuit and Athene, it seems as though this whole "scandal" is a result of Notch's wounded ego. Its increasingly seeming as though Simon and Lewis were more popular than Notch at the convention, and as he didnt appreciate their humour or popularity, waited until the end to release a torrent of hate on them. Most of it seems like a child saying "He said she said". Hopefully when the Yogscast releases a statement we'll get a picture. However:

First of all, the Yogscast is their job, they're entitled to some manner of pay to cover their flights and expenses. They dont have fountains of money to waste like Mojang, so they need some incentive to take the long trip out to Vegas.

And Notch, be honest here, without the Yogscast Minecraft would be no-where as big as it is now. They're on of the largest Youtube channels, and how many people have been drawn to Minecraft just because of them. You may have created the game, but they're the ones who publicised. advertising and demonstrated the game to the world. In reality, without the Yogscast Minecraft would just be a small indie game, because Mojang isnt run well enough to advertise properly primarily because Notch still acts like a child and they have the professionalism of a pack of walnuts.

Finally, anyone who's seen their videos or listened to their podcasts would be familiar with how they work. Simon and Lewis are both sarcastic, make the micky out of everything and muck around to no end. Yes they swear, but its a part of their sense of humour (one could even say its the 'British' sense of humour). Fair enough, some Americans (and Notch) may not have gotten this straight away, but you don't immediatly cry out that they're mean old bullies. If Notch had seen all of their content beforehand, he'd have gotten then.

Thats my current two cents anyway. I for one will be looking for the Yogscast press release when they get home.

Thirded. Notch obviously hasn't watched a whole lot of Yogscast. That type of humor is in every single one of their videos.

i don't think yogscast is really all that responsible for minecraft being as big as it is, sure yogscast has a large subscription base primarily from minecraft videos, but their channel was pretty small before that. i would say it is the other way around since most people found yogscast because they were looking for minecraft videos and simon and lewis's videos is what popped up first.

Also , I need to find the video where at minecon supposedly Notch is making some very unslighly sixual jokes one second.

The Yogscast were already a very popular WoW channel before Minecraft was even in alpha. Sure, Minecraft has done a lot for the Yogscast's popularity, but to say the opposite isn't equally true is just silly.
