Unofficial Pokemon Thread #16

Post » Fri Jul 29, 2011 10:19 am

Here's thread http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1117887-unofficial-pokemon-thread-15/

I found the old thread was locked and no one has created another thread in 5 months. So here's the 16th one I guess. The last thread began with what seemed like a tournament. But I know nothing about it, so this will be more of a general discussion about the games and teams. I'm not sure if battle solicitation is allowed, but if it is, feel free to ask for pokemon battles here. Also, you can suggest trades.

I have yet to play Black and White.......but Mismagius has always been my favorite pokemon, the Ghost types don't get nearly as much attention as they should.

For any of you guys out there with a DS, my codes are:
Pokemon White: 5028 5849 9452
3DS: 5370-0515-1102

Currently training my core team to fight the elite 4 the first time, so my guys at level 55, save for the Fraxur, who is only 45ish and is a PIA to train. As for the gen V pokemon, they're growing on me. At least they're not so silly looking as some of the gen III and IV.

I think it's just a natural reaction. Sure, some look dumb to me, but there's a lot of gen V pokemon I think are cool as well :).

My friend code is: 2580-2401-4404. But all my teams are level 100.

I'd like that, but organizing it is something I don't think I'm up for.

Personally, I like using them. But it's the way I use them really. How many people see a physical kyogre? Not many, as many people send in special walls against it :)

Hehe. I've been able to one shot wobbuffets before. I EV trained scyther like a mofo and taught him x-scissor. Took him on Pokemon Battle Revolution and had some fun.

I'm not to good at EV training though. I just know to give the pokemon the right vitamins, have them hold the right power item, and face the right pokemon. I always forget to count the EV's :P.

Have you tried using a pokemon with the "Moody" ability yet? I've seen a battle log where someone sweeped a whole OU team with a bidoof.

With the right item and the Pokerus, you're getting 10-12 EVs per fight so it's pretty simple once you have all that. Fully EV training a pokemon is a 15 minute process. Getting the first Pokerus and holding onto it is important though and it boils down to luck unfortunately. Remember to spread it and share once you do get it. :P

Also, if anyone cares, I still have Pokemon Battle Revolution battles on http://www.youtube.com/user/DreamerAianna?feature=mhee#p/c/C2B68E01657AC023 All older fights though.

OH YEAH! I forgot about that :P. Yeah, I have that too. If only they gave you more time before the pokemon loses the PokeRUS. Right now, I'm going to try and train a special attacking Sheer Force Tauros, because I couldn't get one with Rock Climb in the dream world yet . I want to give it 252 in Sp.Atk and Speed, but I can never get pokemon to reach their full potential. I look to serebii for stats by the way. It has a Rash nature, so at least that's right.

I love your youtube channel by the way! I have some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZbMb9GCdQQ&feature=channel_video_title myself :P

It won't lose it if it's in a PC box. So have a couple carriers and spread it around and keep the carriers in the box for later usage.

I want to give it 252 in Sp.Atk and Speed, but I can never get pokemon to reach their full potential. I look to serebii for stats by the way. What would you suggest I do to yield the best results? It has a Rash nature, so at least that's right.

Well in Pokemon Black or White, for speed have it fight Basculin while surfing on route 1. 100% encounter rate, just avoid bubbles so you don't hit a Milotic which doesn't give speed. Feebas however does speed if you get one of those from a bubble. With a power anklet and the pokerus that's 12 speed EVs per fight. ((2+4)*2)

For special attack in black and white go to Celestial Tower. Litwicks and Elgyem both give special attack EVs. Should be 10 per fight with Power Lens and Pokerus. ((1+4)*2)).

Edit: Its IVs are probably not maxed and that would take months of ridiculous breeding (or cheating) so it won't hit its highest possible stats most likely. I don't even breed for IVs. Most people with perfect IVs used action replay or some other cheating device and that ruins the fun for me. You'll still get close. EV training's the big thing.
