One thing I would like to see in a dlc is a quest that is actually scary.

For once you go into a cave and instead of torches there is pitch blackness. You can hear something moving beneath you.

As you wander around the cave you come every once in a while to a hole in the cieling through which dribbles just enough light for you to navigate.

There are stories of an incredible weapon beneath. Or someone important you must rescue etc.

You do not fight anything throught the entire cave, but you can hear it watching you. See glimpses of it looking at you from the darkness.

You make it to the end of the cave and find what you were looking for and turn around to return. Whatever it was is no longer watching you. Complete silence.

You make it back out of the cave with no problem, and to unaware characters nothing would seem out of the ordinary as they walked away.

But for the curious who turn and look back at the entrance of this strange cave. A horrifying monster looks at you from the shade of the entrance and slowly dissapears back inside, smiling.

Making you wonder... just how close was it?

Just an example, but I would love to see something like this.

I felt the werewolves would have proved an awesome opportunity for this, but we know how that went.

In fact, more quests in general that allow for the player to think about what is going on rather than slash their way though everything would be nice.

0.o

May have nothing to do with anything.

But steam just put Oblivion and Morrowind on sale for 50% off.

I remember the same thing happening just before a previous announcment.

Here's a few ideas I have.

Artaeum

The Island of Artaeum have reappeared and you have been invited to join the Psijic Order. The expansion not only includes dozens of new items and spells, as well as a new area, but also several new worlds (about the size of the planes of Oblivion in last game) for you to explore. The NPCs you encounter on the island are not just Altmer, but several different species (most of them unknown by the people of Tamriel) that have joined the order since its original disappearance, including a good Dremora and a mysterious and secretive Dwemer who was born after their disappearance. The idea for this DLC is inspired by the Conclave of Shadows from Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Cycle

Requires: Do the quest Dragon Rising or complete the College of Winterhold.

Dragonguard

This is a Broken Steel-esque DLC that adds a new questline after beating the main quest. It adds tons of new weapons and armour as well as a few new dungeons (including an Ayleid ruin in the Jerralls), and a new player home. And several new skills/perk trees. Your mission: restore the Blades to their formal glory and uncover a secret Thalmor plot to destroy Skyrim.

Requires: Complete the Main Quest (duh!).

Akavir

The Empire have recently become aware of a small human kingdom in Akavir (discovered by the Nerevarine), but due to recent turmoil hasn't been able to send an expedition there. Now, however, the East Empire Company is ready to fund an expedition to the newly discovered kingdom and they have sent out an invitation for you to come along. Once there you discover a besieged kingdom that's the refuge of the last remnant of humanity in Akavir. The world is roughly half the size of Skyrim, there are a little over 50 dungeons, and two-three new factions besides the main quest. The expansion also features the very first ever seen Tsaesci.

Requires: Complete Rise in the East.

Return to Daggerfall

This is a town expansion, same as Tribunal. However, it also covers some of the surrounding lands. This DLC adds new spells, weapons and armour that aren't really new but haven't been seen since Daggerfall, and as a bonus the skill Dragonish (one way of levelling up that skill is by shouting), among other skills from that game. The city itself is massive, reminiscent of the cities in Daggerfall. The main quest is you have to stop a daedric cult from unleashing its terror upon the city.

Requires: Become a Thane in any of the Holds.

Note: The reason I add requirements for each of the DLC ideas is that I hate how in Oblivion I get a quest update for nearly every DLC before leaving the tutorial dungeon.

Yes, i would love a scary dungeon with an ancient creepy backstory to it and very dark. Sort of like the Dunwich Building in Fallot 3, but much bigger.

Yea I would love that, sadly my vision of being hunted by werewolves in dark forests of skyrim didn't materialize.

Heh, earlier they mentioned that they benchmarked the DLC with Fallout 3's Point Lookout, and the Tweet says "Be on the lookout..."

I know, I am just excited!
