Update issues?

Since the recent updates to both the game and the creation kit, I've had no end of weird problems in-game. Aside from the usual hang-ups and crashes, my game sound has gone erratic. Basically, it may work fine, then go into crackles, or a reverberating style that sounds like everyone and everything is in a tunnel or cavern, or it occasionally develops a repetive buzzing or tapping sound.

Graphics wise, at around the same time the time as this, the game develops into a slide show in certain areas.

I've fiddled with my hardware sound and graphics settings, I've tested all my hardware...all okay.

I am running around 60 odd mods, but those mods and the game were all running fine until the updates. The rig is clean, and I regularly virus sweep and run it in security suite 'game mode' to prevent issues from that aspect. I also close down all unnecessary background programmes while gaming.

My question is:

Is it likely that the updates have impacted on the mods, installed and created under the previous ck/game versions, and that is causing my problems?

One other factor which I did notice, Steam seems to be using two or three times more cpu lately as well (verified through task manager on an xp system), which I thought was rather odd.

Any time you update you are really need to deactive and remove all mods until they are updated for the latest game version. If you dont you will get problems of all kinds.
