UPS has been HACKED!

Post » Mon Sep 05, 2011 7:36 pm

I just tried to check the status of a package I've been waiting for and I got redirected to a hackers website. So, I checked the Google and sure as hell, UPS has been hacked. I sure hope this doesn't affect me getting the battery for my generator.

Luckily the hacking party has only changed DNS records to point to their "graffiti". So, maybe it won't affect my getting my package.

At first I was looking at it on my Android phone and thought my phone was hacked. Then I realized UPS was hacked.

It's already been resolved. It's now up to your ISP to correct their DNS records.

LOL! I love those comics.

Yeah, I'm just waiting for my ISP to change everything back.

It was the registrar's Ascio's fault as they were the ones that got hacked. Hackers then messed with the DNS settings. Up to 35k sites were affected by this, but none of the sites were hacked, this was a pure hijacking.

Translated into an anology: the buildings (websites) didn't get touched, but someone messed with the street signs so people would go into a shady part of town instead of their intended destinations.

Makes sense the CIA or some other secret organization or corporation is probably behind all these hackings or at least supporting.

How is that at all related to that comic?

It won't. As noted, it's just a a redirect from UPS.com. That wouldn't affect the shipping itself, just your ability to track it.

Yeah, I was worried at first then I read the article and felt it was odd. But it's back now. I wonder if all the other sites that were hijacked were fixed yet? I know UPS was working last night.
