Upset that the Thalmor are so Easy to Hate : V - Skyrim

About the only really decent Thalmor you'll ever come across in the game is Oldolemar.. being that he's always patrolling he at least doesn't outright attack you after you're done talking to him and he even gives you a little history on the Dominion. Being that I only play Argonians, I see the Thalmor as the next big enemy of TES after the Daedra from the Oblivion Invasion and hope they don't bother Black Marsh. They'll regret doing so :devil:

You can join the Stormcloaks without having done any main quest except Unbound. And then you have to start Dragon Rising to continue the questline. But you can join them without discovering you're Dragonborn. And the Dark Elves on the roads say this.

"I'm on my way to Windhelm to join up with Ulfric, he has the right of it"

The guy that says that is an Imperial. He also says something along the lines of "I may have roots in Cyrodill, but Skyrim's as much my home as any Nord's!". Oh, and I'm fairly certain that the fact you can join them without formally discovering you are Dragonborn is trivial. Ulfric will still refer to you as the Dragonborn in speech. It's an oversight.

There is more then one race that says the same thing about going to join the Stormcloaks. And still it's another race going to join the Stormcloaks.

Yeah. If you save Malborn or whatever his name was he asks you to kill a Thalmor Khajiit assassin later on.

Legate Faendil is a pretty cool Altmer, as others have mentioned. Plus, there's the Psijic Order, theyre mostly elves but oppose the Dominion and seem very awesome.

I understand where you're coming from though, my Altmer is always nothing like the majority of Altmer who are arrogant Thalmor or just plain arrogant.

Good point. It just svcks wandering around as a High Elf and hating all other High Elves. Maybe another faction is a bad idea. All I want are some cool and respectable High Elves

All high elves aren't Thalmor.

I could be mistaken of course. I recall seeing a screenshot of an Altmer NPC in the bear outfit, sat in a Stormcloak camp. I think there was even a wiki page for them. Perhaps it was a modded NPC or somesuch.

I don't think there should be a whole new faction of altmers , but I hope the high elves in the upcoming DLCs won't be that arrogant. Skyrim has more than enough annoying characters.

He can be ether faction, depending on which you pick. However, it seems he is actually a Thalmor spy. The game just suits him to who you are most likely to trust. So my mistake, sort of.

However, the note on his body says that no one in Skyrim is clever enough to see through his diguise, which suggests that there must be none-Nord Stormcloaks (even if we never see them) or it would be a pretty crappy disguise.

Several Nords are seen in the ranks though. There is also at least one Altmer.

the thalmor are not evil yes they're snobby but they came in and beat the nords in battle and other races should (except nords) should look up to the thalmor for not being pushed down like trash (examples- dark elves, argonians). the nords hold resentment because they got beat. if the game was in the thalmor they would be heros and the nords would be evil.

There's one Dunmer officer, I think he's the CO at the Pale camp. Haven't seen Argonians that had joined either side though.

No. The Thalmor are evil. They committed genocide in Valenwood, and I'm sure that isn't the only province it has happened in. Genocide is bad. Really bad.

I think they did an okay job with the Imperial and Stormcloak dilemma being grey, but they made the Thalmor downright evil, which(while I don't care for them regardless), is a bit lame.

not everyone can be grey. there is a dark side.

Thalmor are evil and a common enemy for all races of tamriel (also there are many altmer dissidents)
