I think it was a guard in Whiterun. Then it spread out all over Skyrim and now guards in Winterhold are saying it too.

I'm single handedly stopping that meme, one dead guard at a time.

I still love the arrow in the knee comment. But I hate all the other repetitive babble ("I don't claim to be the best blacksmith in Whiterun" "I work for Belethor" etc, etc etc :banghead:
