PC user Dual weapon handling a nightmare?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:56 pm

Well i started a dual handler 2 weapons, i play on PC.

And before bashing the company for more shoddy work i wan t to know if you are experiencing the same;

I cannot for the live of me put on hotkeys 2 weapons wether the exact same weapon or diferent ones (i think this happens when you have a spell on hotkeys)

if i put left weapon on 2 for example and right weapon on 3 it keep switching weapons, with the left hand always bringing a spell. (by the way i wonder how bethesda wasn t able to allow fully left handed PC - try to use shield on right hand and weapon on left hand)

If i have 2 exact weapons and hotkey them on 3, when i press second time on 3 the second weapon unprogram itself and never come on the left hand.

The only time 1 weapon on each hand come the right way is when i switch from bow to 1 handed weapon, the moment i select a spell thing get out of control. So each time i use a spell i have to pause the game to reprogram the weaponry.

Are you dual users getting the same ?

BTW whats wrong with 2 weapons/weapon and shield on the same hotkey slot as it was in Morrowind. Thats really a step back. Also morrowind had 10 hotkeys and Skyrim has only 8 ??? Nice job.
Whats wrong with Diablo scheme ? 1 keys switching between 2 pre sets of weaponry ?
Whats wrong with in hotkeys binding left hand and right hand to the spell/weapon/shield ?

Yes, unfortunately that is exactly the case. You can put one weapon on a hotkey and equip another one in the other hand. As long as you don't change your left hand to a spell, it works fine since the game remembers this combination (example: Sword on hotkey 1, equip a dagger in second hand, no problem. You don't even have to have the second weapon on a hotkey). But as soon as you switch to a spell you have to reconfigure. That is why my assassin does not use any spells at all...

I tend to enchant my weapons and name them differently. This helped with the game getting confused about the same weapons.

Also you might want to equip your spell on your right hand. I do this and haven't had the problem you are speaking of.

This is the only work around. I've had this issue and was going to mention it but Ji Soo beat me to it.
