Using new Dragon words (simple question, please don't spoil)

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:39 pm

Hi there,

I've been playing Skyrim for quite some time but mostly avoiding the main quest, doing my own things :D
I only just started worrying about the dragons...

Since I've been exploring a lot, I've already "picked up" quite a few dragon words.

The GrayBeards taught me to use the "push" one and the "go really really fast" one but I can't seem to be able to learn the other ones I keep on finding and the graybeards won't teach me, apparently.

Please don't post spoilers here :)

My question is just: is there a way for me to use these new dragon words or learn how to use them now? Or do I just have to advance further in the main quest? (I'm only up to the Thalmor Embassy reception).

Cheers :)

Unlock them with dragon souls.

Look in the "Shouts" section of your magic menu. As P!ink said, you will be able to see how many souls you have "banked" and unlock any learned shouts from there.

Oh I see. And is the number between brackets the number of dragon souls I need to unlock them?

What about the number between brackets after each of the words of the shouts I got unlocked? What do they mean?

Thank you =)

Each shout is made up of three words and each word requires a shout to unlock. (There are a few exceptions, where you learn all three words to a shout at once) The more words of a shout used, the more powerful the effect, but also the longer until it can be used again.

"each word requires a shout to unlock."

I don't understand (sorry!).

Did you mean a soul?

What are the numbers between brackets?

Thank you :)

Yes, a soul, sorry.

It's been a while since I played with the stock UI, so i'm not sure what brackets you're referring to. If they're larger numbers, 20, 40, 60, etc they could be referring to the shout's cooldown period.
