Using the same character in diff. games

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:37 pm

in morrowind, oblivion or anyother similar type game i've never had a carry-over character, i've always had interest in theifs and bards but never had that one character i used in more than one game. I guess i never made one i liked tremendously, but i finally got one! my orc warrior who goes by the name Bash Dat-A**. Im having a blast running around and playing the game at its simplest form, bashing every bad person over the head with my orcish warhammer, Everything from my characters look to his name to what he stands for has really got me excited.

So anyway i was just wondering if most people had carry over characters or most were like me and never really had one to settle in on... Its my first time on a forum for this type of game so im definetly interested in hearing others opinions, thanks.

Not really. I've recycled character names, but the characters are usually different aside from my having a very strong bias towards bretons and altmer.

Nah, I have some very similar builds sometimes, mostly revolving around Conjuration, but they are different characters.

I always use basically the same builds (changed skills being the exception), but never the same character.

<---Qorwynn Aundae. He's a high elf vampire from a clan in Morrowind. I played him in oblivion, and he's alive in Skyrim. High elves live over 100 years, and vampires live for a very long time. The only truly immortal beings are those who turn themselves into liches, so when a couple hundred more years pass in TES VI or VII or who knows when, hopefully we can become liches ingame.
I almost forgot, welcome to the forums.

I never used Khajiits until Skyrim and I'm loving it partly due to the fact that you can make them look so interesting, whereas in past titles, the Khajiit were hideous.

im in a similar situation, the last thing i would of picked in anyother game was an orc and i definetly wouldnt of been a warrior but the orcs have some really cool appearance options and i never thought i would be having this much fun playing as a bash first ask questions later type, but truth be told its the most fun i've ever had with these type of games. Something really cool about making a character you really like.

I am a fan of the R.A. Salvatore series with a Dark Elf (Drow) named Drizzt Do' Urden. I played as Drizzt in Oblivion and am currently at lvl 40 with Drizzt in Skyrim. I am happy I am able to dual wield in Skyrim as Drizzt does in the books. I do wish there was some better looking BLACK light armor in Skyrim. I used the DB shrouded armor in Oblivion, but I personally think the DB Shrouded armor in Skyrim looks silly.

I occasionally recycle the name of a character I didn't use much in a previous game, but aside from that I generally create original names, appearances and backstories. I'll sometimes keep a favourite's last name and play off a brand new character as their father or daughter, though. One of my Skyrim toons, Anja Engelhaus, is the great-great-granddaughter of my Morrowind character, Anael Engelhaus.

Theresa, my paladin, was created over 12 years ago, she is basically the heroic version of myself, and the only thing that changes from game to game is her hair....

I do play other characters all the time, but my first character in any RPG that allows me to play a paladin will always be theresa.
she was created as a dungeons and dragons character, I was kinda new to it, so they told me to just make a character that would act a lot like I would, and I loved it.
so far she has been to well over 20 games, both pen and paper, and computer games, and she is the only character I've used again and again.
