Some of the regulars know this story, but I just thought I might throw something up which is 'unusual', I guess.

I recently started a new character, who is now level 35 with no grinding, and who has started in on the main quest and released Serana in the DG quest (haven't taken her 'home' to bloodsvcker island yet though).

In those 35 levels, my character is not fast travelling, is sleeping rough in the forest or tundra, and doing the 'hardcoe approach' thing...also travelling the roads at night etc etc.

I have not had one random vamp encounter, nor one vamp raid on a town or city, and I've only fought 3 non-scripted dragons and had a couple fly off without playing.

I know there is a lot of angst about towns being wiped out by the vampire menace, or people losing npc's to dragon raids, but this run through of mine is almost sedate...it just isn't happening. I'm sort of RP'ing a bard type (with a few bard and dance mods) but this guy's story will be the most boring and dull epic in the history of Tamriel.

Seriously, not one random vamp attack or encounter.... *facepalm....

I think they only appear when you load new cells so if you fast travel a lot you will load a new cell and then the rng kicks in to see if you get a raid of vampires. Same goes for the Dragons from what I have found. So if your just wandering about you will still load cells but the vampires are not forced to show up at your location when you do.

My previous high level character was running into them randomly all the time, that's the bizarre thing. No lie, so far there hasn't been one random or raid, it's spooky.

Thats lucky or rare i saw a lot of vampires attacks you might want to fast travel a bit more
