Vampires with the Dawnguard?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 11:19 am

I hate playing evil, even if I am a Vampire. Yeah...it's ironic.

I think it would make the game interesting for me if I, as a vampire, could join the Dawnguard to kill the Vampires. Even though it may sound dumb, but the only thing is that if I join the Dawnguard am I even able to? Or will they not let me and kill me instantly finding out that I am a vampire? And also by joining the Dawnguard will I potentially lose out on some awesome vampire powers if I refuse to join that side? It may seem obvious but nothing has been confirmed, however what do you guys think?

I want to join the Dawnguard but not at the cost of losing some cool abilities...

Yeah I think you'll be able to play dawngaurd as a vampire, I think Bethesda will make it so that everyone in the dawngaurd is extremely untrusting at you, but in the end they'll trust you as a vampire. It will make it pretty interesting and different, and if they don't allow you well I'll be pissed.

I was thinking this earlier. I think you'd be able to join, but i hope it gives extra dialog refering to your Vampirism.

If Dawnguard is like the Vigilants of Stendarr forget it. You will be lynched before you reach the main gate. Not to mention your allergy to the sun (such nice weather in the trailer)

Edited because of S instead of D in lynched... haha

This is my speculation, but I don't believe the Dawnguard are fundamentalists like the Vigil of Stendarr. They've been referred to as an ancient order. I think they are more concerned with protecting the sun than shunning potential allies.

An armoured troll would be the Ultimate companion for my Orsimer Mage, they would get along great.
Also I have a pure evil Khajiit and a Neutral Orsimer, I have the same problem. I want to be a vampire but not be pure evil. My Khajiit kills everybody who crossed his path. Pure evil. While my Orsimer only kills those who are attacking him. He may do the occasional kill of a friendly person though. Then again he could lose control and turn evil into a vampire lord to do evil stuff.

IMO the Dawnguard will have you get cured before they let you in. There will probably be a quest like, "Rejoining The Collage" when you kill a member of the Collage of Winterhold.

I think the leader of the dawnguard (whoever it is) sees potential and light in you and lets you join even though your a vampire.

Well did they say that

Spoiler
you have to join the dawnguard first since that is where the rumor sends you?

So by that logic wouldn't it be stupid to make someone get the cure, then infected again?

Well, I've read that in the quest to find Serana's mother, you have a choice:

A. Proceed with Harkons plans to desecrate the sun, by sacrificing Serana and corrupting Auriel's Bow
B. Stop Harkon

Keep in mind this was a quest done by a Vampire Lord
