Vampirism and looks

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 3:38 am

I recently had my female high elf become a vampire, and no matter what stage of vampirism I am at, there appears to be no cosmetic changes to my character at all, and she still looks the same as before she was a vampire. Is this normal for Skyrim? or are vampire characters supposed to have a change in how they look?

I think there are supposed to be fangs, but since you see the back of their heads 99% of the time, they're not very prominent.

My Argonian has fangs and different eyes. Besides that initial change though, no real progressive changes per stage of undeath that I've noticed.

Upon reloading the game I finally am seeing a bit of change, primarily, my skin looks a lot paler now than when I was last playing. Guess all it took was a reload.

You get very slightly pale and gaunt (bone structure of face does change every so slightly) and of course red eyes. Though they are less red than natural Dunmer eyes. I saved a game right before the change and compared the look a few times.

Doesn't seem to change at all based on stage of vampirism though, which is a shame.

I would have to agree with the OP. I made a male vampire and he looks pale, red eyes and fangs. Okay, so I made a female vampire. But she looks exactlly the same aside from color changes in her skin. Her eyes did not even change. I suspected it was because I already have another vampire character in the same system, so I started a new game on a different playstation to see if it was true. And yeah, female vampire PC's don't change as much as the males do.

be happy! Atleast you still keep your looks...unlike oblivion where becoming a vampire completely destroys how your character looks

Some of us don't want to look like humans at all. It's bad enough we start off as one.

Lucky your appearance didn't change - my character has a dirt all over her face now after becoming a vamp. If i reload to a previous save before I changed to a vampire - the dirt goes away but every time i turn, i just become pale for a little while then the dirt just randomly shows up and won't go away. Its annoying.

... Play a non-human? There are atleast 3 of those even if you consider elves too human looking.

Yeah, svcks, just another thing Bethesda "didnt think of doing"......Alot of people take the side of "complexity for complexities sake is redundant". Well this is yet ANOTHER "lets not make it too complex and take the easy way out, I dont want to be here past 9 tonight" deal...

Good thing there is the community to mop up Beths mess and make it all better(yet again)....(hopefully some skilled modders will undertake this project and make different changes for the hunger stages...)

I mean seriously, how hard is it? How much extra work is it to make the face a tad skinnier, a tad paler, and maybe the eyes a tad different at each lvl? Hell you can do the skinny and paleness in the damn character creator!

And dont even get me started on the lack of clans/ish to do as a Vampire!!!

Hopefully Alienslof will recreate her "Vampire Embrace" mod. Hell she does it all single handedly, they should effing hire her to do there Vampires and kick to the curb whoever is making them now! (probably a whole team of people........)

Ugh im done ranting....lol

Yea i'm pissed...I see pics of guy vamps and they look good...guess girls aren't allowed to be vampires? Don't get me wrong oblivion didn't have it right either...but it was closer than skyrim. I want to look like a vampire without looking like a wrinkled old bat? K? All you had to do was get rid of the wrinkles...why do I not have evil glowing red eyes or bloody fangs? All i get is some mud on my face..wth
