Vampirism and Necromancy

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 9:30 am

As a vampire i get weaker by feeding and stronger by not.

I hit the fourth stage of vampirism and get a message saying i'm now feared and hated.I can understand the hate part but fear? Every farmer, civillian, woman out collecting crops in a field whips out a dagger and charges the unholy monster confident their meager combat skills can end it's unholy life.

What's all that about?

No fellowship with other vampires,no faction,no abode.

Vampirism and necromancy were never really fleshed out in Oblivion, especially in the mage guild quests.Skyrim would have been a great opportunity.I'll find myself in a cave and hear the voice of a necromancer talking about a plot to dig out a tomb and raise the dead and i'm thinking "Hang on can i not join you? That sounds a lot more interesting than what i'm being asked to do"

Give us the option to not be a dragonslayer and saviour of the world while still watching the main events of the story unfold or at least write a plotline where both good and evil characters/factions can find some common cause out of self interest to put an end to the dragon threat.

"You've done Whiterun a great service" - " I'm now allowing you to buy a house in Whiterun and giving you a woman who stands up and sits down every 5 seconds"

"Well thats very kind of you Jarl Balgruuf but i'm not that fussed about being a Theign so can i not have a cave or underground dwelling somewhere with a few chests to keep my stuff and you can keep the sit down standy up woman?"

Oh well maybe in the next game :)

Fear can lead to two things, fight or flight. In this case Fight.

I agree. I felt like a indefinite "good" quest line doesn't exists, aka Vigilants of Stendarr or even something else designed to find evil and destroy it.

Equally, I feel that in order to be really evil, you have to RP. No Vampires to fight along side. The companions as werewolfs doesn't really strike me as evil, nor did I feel like I have options to be evil. Purely RP if you want to feel evil IMO. I will say a serial killer is not that hard.

Oh well maybe in the next game

Three things actually. The third one is papping your pants and doing nothing.

I dont take any pleasure in mindless slaughter and dont do it which leads to the daft situation where i'm the one who is running.

@TheMute88 - Good points about the Vigilants.I saw a couple of them travelling the road at night when i first became a vampire.I thought i'd better stay away from them. When i eventually crept closer there was no reaction from them.Very disapointing.

Exactly I would want the evil vanquishers to try to vanquish me. If I'm rocking vampirism or I have the ring of hircine or I've been "blessed" by the companions, I think they would know.

I would like to be able to join the Vigilants and tkae out daedric cults, witchs, werewolves, vampires, etc.

Also I would like to be able to join smaller evil factions like above and like the mercenaries come for you for stealing, the Vigilants come for you for being "an evil monster".

Hopefully the vigilants will be fleshed out in an expansion of some sort.Quests to join or combat deadric cults and witches covens sounds like a great idea, theres so much that could be added.Sadly it will probably only be added via mods.

i remember i was playing with the wabbajack when i seen some vilgilents, it was pathetic how little they apperently know about what they are attempting to destory (but to be fair, they know nothign about their ow god either, mercy my ass), oh but as soon as i hit them they figured out i had a deadric artifact  vampires are 100% lore-breaking (same goes to werewolves) and boring, first we are stuck with The Order and, to make them border-line insulting to the lore, the volknier (spelling) are the exact same as the cyrodillic order, not even cosmetic differences
