I got a good one for you guys. I'm new to the forum so slander me if this has already been spoiled.

Get yourself a stealthboy (i think I stole mine from the Sloan workers barracks)

Head north out of Sloan and follow the right side of the road. (stay in the cliffs along the edge or it wont work)

As soon as you come to your first "red marker" (deathclaw) use the stealthboy and haul ass straight North.

Once you get passed the deathclaws follow the road straight to Camp McCarren. Go inside and all the way up to the Concourse inside the Terminal Building. (you need NCR armor now) You can find what you need in two armor cases within the complex. One is in the Concourse where all the bunks are. The other is under the shelves next to Coronas <--? (the guy you can trade with)

Once you are wearing the armor go to the MONORAIL! The guards will let you right through and you get a free ride to VEGAS.

Once in vegas you can leave out the North Gate and they will always let you back in.

HINT. If you do this very early on go to the VanGraffs and do their missions. When they do the deal with the Legion you will end up with a lot of kick ass gear at a really low lvl. Im only lvl 3 and it helped me out a ton.

The other sweet part is that you can shop at the Gun Runners from the beginning of the game!

Wow man, this is actually really helpful. I knew about the Van Graffs and all, and had heard about the monorail, but never actually went looking. Now I don't have to bother about making 2k caps in freeside with my new character.

I run through Novac, doesn't take that long at all and much safer.

Instead of wasting the stealthboy you can just save and use it steal the van graff's into bankruptcy. You don't need to go to the monorail, just go the nomrla way and hug the clifs to the rigt after sloan. deathclaws don't climb cliffs.

If I was a complete moron I highly doubt I would have found this shortcut.
That said, you have to come down from the cliffs and run across an almost endless open field before you reach camp McCarren.
Shouldn't knock something before you try it.

You take the cliffs until you are near the repcon HQ, then just run straight for it. The difference between going through the monorail and just running up the east side is maybe a minute at max, and you don't have to waste a stealthboy.

Nice. I thought you meant run along the cliffs, next to the road, I didn't understand you meant run around them. Thanks for the advice.

Problem is, Stealth Boys are priceless... There are quests you need them for. Spending one just because you are too lazy to run around the mountains is kind of... expensive.

That would be useful, but you will miss out on SO MUCH stuff that it's not worth it.

I guess you could do it for a speed run or something....

I discovered this trick a while back and have been using it for all my newer playthroughs.

If you're just starting out and need a stealthboy (or would like an extra one) crack open that safe in the Goodsprings Schoolhouse. Every time I've opened it, I've found one, so I'm fairly certain it's static loot. I believe Cobb carries one as well, as long as you murder him before the gunfight.

Heading north isn't too bad, although chances are very good that you will encounter more than a few powder gangers. Fortunately, they aren't that difficult to deal with and can be taken out with a 9mm pistol.

The stealthboy trivializes the deathclaw encounter immensely. Just creep in at full speed (no walking) and as soon as [DANGER] starts flashing on your HUD, use that stealthboy and sneak run all the way to Junction 15. Once you're there, the hard part is over.

Getting into Vegas isn't too bad, avoid the Fiends best you can and stick close to the McCarren Airfield, let the NCR do the heavy lifting.

With practice and luck, you can get to New Vegas at level 1. After some quick gambling at the Atomic Wrangler, cash out a jackpot on the slot machine and head to the Vegas Medical Clinic. Get your implants, notably, the +1 intelligence.

There, you have successfully completed NV's equivalent of a Bobblehead run.
