Veronica..

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 2:41 pm

Among other things i have stumbeled upon being unable to even recruit Veronica, i searched all over but i can only find the issue with her not moving, But my issue is about the recruit prosess, all i can do when i try and talk with her is choose the option "Good bye'

This seems like quite a obvious glitch but is there any way whatsoever to fix it? or am i [censored] out of luck?

Is your Karma really low? Some don't like that, altho maybe that was Cass...
Is your BoS rep already low for some reason?
Supposedly Veronica can occasionally glitch for some people if you talk to her, don't recruit her, then talk to her again (the recruit option won't appear again).
One possible thing to try is to go to Hidden Valley and start the BoS quests, if you haven't already...it may open up her conversations. No guarantee of it, tho, it's only what I saw someone post in a thread once, long ago.

My Karma is high, i have done like 3-4 things to lose Karma off.

I did the long BoS questline including fixing their ventilation system and all that.

Still the same thing. I assume i got the glitch then, which svcks because she seems by far the most interesting companion..

I guess i can just wait for a patch? or start over, but thats not happening.

problem with waiting for a patch is that it may not take effect until you start a new game. it was most likely the BoS quest line that messed it up, so there may not be a solution. are you wearing faction armor, maybe? probably not.... you could try triggering a few quests, then go back and see if she responds.

Thing is i tried before i did the BoS quests and then again after, both times the same thing..

I'm not starting a new game thats for sure, if a patch wont fix it ill just have to leave it.

I'm wearing the, (i cant remember the name but inside freeside the people that sell weapons) armor i got, but i doubt that would count as a faction, will check next time i go on though.

ah, I didn't know that... that's weird. it's something else then. I haven't done veronicas quet line, but perhaps you interacted with something or someone that for some reason made her a one-sentence statue.

nor should you have to. hopefully next time it won't happen to you, chances are it won't.

I don't think it's a faction armor if you purchased it in freeside, I'm guessing Mick & Ralph's...if it says something like "you are now disguised as (faction)" or along those lines (I can't remember exactly what it says, even though I've seen it countless times) then its faction armor. o well, worth a shot....

If you are talking about Van Graff armour (the guys who sell energy weapons in Freeside) then that might be the problem. The Van Graffs are villain characters. I'll try avoid spoilers in case you haven't accepted any missions from them (although you don't have to deal with them period), but they are involved in some shady dealings and at one point try to trick you into bringing someone important to them for a little "talk". You can even get them in trouble with the NCR for their illegal dealings and they will attack you on sight from that point on. There aren't too many of them btw, and you can just wipe them all out in Freeside for some great loot at their now vacant store!

I'm having the same "Goodbye" issue, even with high karma, all BoS quests completed, and Dead Money holotape on me. After completing FNV for 5 times, I don't see myself doing it again only because gamesas-team can't fix it properly with a patch. I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, but it all looks quite strange for a $60 game. Still I adore FNV and even more than F3, so I sincerely hope for a proper patch to address this issue without utilizing old saves etc.
