I have the steam version that I pre-loaded from Steam. I'm having issues with my quicksaves disappearing after I quit and go back into the game. The reason that I discovered that I was having issues was that the game crashed on me after about thirty minutes or so of playing. When I went back to load my quicksave, it was gone and a quicksave from near the beginning of the game was there. I finally realized that the quicksaves weren't working for whatever reason and I started to use the normal save feature which seems to be working. I can live with that for now.

The part that stinks is that I get these consistent crashes around fifteen to thirty minutes into playing the game and I'm not sure why. Essentially I've resorted to playing very task based Fallout: New Vegas. I will complete a task and then save. Complete the next task and then save, and on and on.

but good luck fixing it. ive had this problem since launch of fallout 3...the problem hasnt been fixed in 2 years...dont expect them to fix it now.

you can try running in windowed mode...that helped me for a while, well see if it helps now

Well I tried turning of the Steam Cloud Sync or whatever it's called and ever since I did that I have had no crashes. I'm still being cautious and saving pretty often but it seems to work now. I haven't tested the quicksave functionality yet. When I do I'll reply to this thread to let people know who may be experiencing similar issues to myself.

That is interesting, the Steam Cloud might be uploading the quicksaves and downloading them in the incorrect order? I will make sure to turn off Steam Cloud once I get it. I am very worried I keep hearing about these crashes and while I'm at school waiting to get home and play I'm trying to check all this stuff out now.

I just started a new session and decided to try out using the quicksaves. I quicksaved maybe two or three times and then the game crashed. I got the exact same error box as the one above. Based on my experience it seems like something is broken with the quicksave function.

When I had Steam Cloud off and wasn't using quicksaves I was able to play for around two hours with no crashes. With Steam Cloud off and using quicksaves the game crashed in about ten or fifteen minutes. I'm going to avoid using quicksaves and I'll reply with any new information.

Okay doing everything that I was doing before and I got another crash. The only thing that happened that was different was that I fast traveled for the first time. I'm not sure what the problem is at this point. It stinks when technical issues get in the way of a great game.
