No PC version yet?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:08 pm

If not, I'm uninstalling new vegas from my pc and forgetting about it. I'm not going to be punished for not having an xbox 360 version of the game. I spent hundreds on my pc set up strictly to play new vegas with good details and good mods. I made these purchases based on the fun I had with fallout 3 on the xbox 360. Unless they're releasing a discounted version for us, I'm not looking forward to getting this dlc or any future dlc. I've already read personal reviews about the dlc and it already disappointed me. I hate to rant on about this, but I hate waiting for a dlc that's no longer worth the wait. I can understand two weeks after it's been out. But this has gone long enough. The game it'self wasn't even that great or how I expected it to be and a lot of people can account to that. I've only played less than 200 hours compared to the 500+ I spent on fallout 3. To be fair that was with all the mods. But I remember I spent 300 on the vanilla version versus 200 hours of new vegas with mods extending the gameplay.

From what I heard Dead Money was pretty boring anyway. But there is an endless selection of free mods out there. So don't worry about DLC just enjoy downloading mods or making your own.
I wish we had the DLC too, but I am content with mods for now. I'm sure it will be at least a couple more months before the PC version comes out.

It just seems ridiculous. Yeah I've installed quite a few mods to extend the gameplay already. I haven't tried using the geck yet. I just don't really have the time. Regardless, I'll uninstall the game and reinstall it when better dlc's come out. I think I've played it out for now.

It is pretty dumb that their punishing us for not having a game system in which we would have to pay for multiplayer and doesn't even have good graphics anyway haha. Bethesda logic just seems, well they have none. I think this is how they figured out when to release the dlc for each platform..

76 minus the square root of steven hawkings thumb equals the branch of a maple tree 200 years after the great war of 1856 and to conclude our equation...cherry pie. So thus meaning Xbox 360 gets the dlc and pc and ps3 will wait 9 months. IT'S ALL PERFECT!!!

I'm a completist. I typically purchase every DLC because I want to play the entirety of the game. With F:NV, I might not buy any DLC or any future gamesas products because I am tired of being treated as a second-class consumer. gamesas wants to take money from Microsoft, but the opportunity cost of that decision is that they no longer get money from me.

It is just as well however, that as a PC user, I have access to tons of add-on content through mods.

Yea, but it makes you wonder how much Microsoft is paying them? It must be a whole lot becasue they are losing 2/3 of their sales.
But as you said mods are free and generally more fun than DLC anyway. And making your own mods is even more fun.

The mods for this game or so much better than any DLC they could crap out. I downloaded this mod a few days ago New Vegas Bounties and I've played like 5 hours and I still ain't done yet. Another great one Wasteland Defence make your own encampment and defend it against raids I mean how cool is it to take on 30+ BoS guys running right into your well designed traps and impenetrable fortress. (which I build on the roof of the REPCON HQ you never get me here M@therF$cker)

Not to put a damper on all of the enthusiastic bashing, but it's only been 5 or 6 weeks since the DLC was released. I'm on Gandler's side and suspect that it will be released for other platforms at some point. The PS3 players got similar treatment with the DLCs for FO3, so I'm not griping (much). In the interim, there are plenty of freebie mods to keep me occupied. Worst case scenario? I'll go read a book or maybe get out and do something. What a radical idea.

I've seen that movie where the guy rents his wife out on their honeymoon for a million dollars. An even better plot for a movie would be where a software company shoots itself in the foot for a similar amount by selling the long term loyalty of its fan base during its honeymoon. I suppose for enough bucks, a good prosthesis could be found. Add enough chrome and lights and the prosthesis might even be a hit at upcoming game conventions.

Probably eventually, but not for at least a few more months.

I doubt very much they're losing 2/3 of their sales by making the DLC Xbox exclusive. I haven't seen any figures, but I'm guessing that sales of New Vegas for the XBox were probably way more than sales for the PS3 and the PC combined.

I expect we'll see several more DLCs released as XBox exclusives before we see even a single one ported to the other platforms.

Me, being on a 360, I'm asking: "No second DLC yet?" If not, I guess I'll just keep playing New Vegas and forget about more DLC for now. Maybe I'll start my 8th playthrough. Or maybe I'll take a little break and play a different game a while.

I'd probably feel the same way (meaning, I'd just wait) if I was on a PC. I'd just get mods or something to change it up a little. Personally, I'd feel a little... um... silly... uninstalling a game I paid $60 for just because I didn't have access to a $10 DLC. But I'm sure that's just me.
