Very bad frame rate issues in random (indoor) locations.

I've recently been getting a lot of bad frame rate issues in random indoor locations, this issue seems to occur at random. The frame rate is that bad it makes combat, and playing the game very difficult.

Although I have had these issues before the recent update, they were more rare, but now I am getting it more often.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Things I have tried.
  • Installed the game - Had it installed from day one, and it doesn't seem to do much. Other than speed up loading times.
  • Restarting the game - It works for a while, however the frame issues come back after a while, sometimes when I visit another dungeon or castle interoir, or Dwremer ruin intreriors.
  • Cleaning the disc - I don't need to clean the disc, it's in 100% good condition. It doesn't even have a finger print on it.
It seems at the moment that restarting the game is the only real way to fix this issue, I was wondering if anyone had a more permanent solution to stop it.

Checklist

1. Check your keys for the Dwemer Museum key mulitplier gltich (you could have 1000's of duplicates)
2. Make sure you don't drop useless things when you are overemcumbered, store them inside a body instead. The game remembers everything you drop and it will always be there, this obviously takes up space.
3. Some indoor locations are known to be problem areas (Snow elf statue save, Fellgow keep)
4. All in all there isn't much you can do sadly, as problems usually only get worse with increasing save file size/age.

I kinda hope you have the key glitch so it can be dealth with :) good luck

It should also be noted that any spells or attacks that have a physics effect will also slow the game down. For example using FusRoDah in a crowded room will make all the objects fly around and slow the game to a crawl as it has to do all the physics calcs.

My experience: This happens when the physics system of the game eats away too much cpu, hence the framerate drop. Examples are objects floating around erratically in the water, causing the effect. It's not the only cause, but one that plagued me a few times. The game is indeed unplayable in that state. Reversing to an earlier save and making sure nothing drops and floats in the water solved it for me.
