I've been trying to think of a way to make the game a bit more challanging.

So far:

No companions
No sneak attacks with ranged weapons
No gambling/caravan
Obviously no exploiting obvious bugs in the game for caps/items/exp.
No silenced ranged weapons.

Anything else glaringly overpowered? No sneak/silencer tones downs snipers a bit, even though it's probabky not quite enough.

Uhm...These are all features of the game. Why would one ban themselves from using them, aside from roleplaying reasons?

No clothes

Don't pick up ammo/caps

Don't complete quests

Stand completely still in Doc Mitchel's house

Try making your char extremely dumb and focus on melee or unarmed, you can justify your choice of weapons due to guns and lasers being "to complicated".

Edit: I think Ba Joe Bo was being serious.

The point isn't to make a crappy character. And thi isn't some roleplaying nonsense, it's simply a few rules to balance an unbalanaced game and make a REAL hard mode, not one just advertised as hard.

Then don't play the game. There's no reason to limit yourself like this just because you think it's too easy. Raise the difficulty or play another game.

EDIT: Roleplaying nonsense? You're playing a [censored] RPG. The game advertises itself as Fallout New Vegas. You buy the game, you play it. If it's too easy you raise the difficulty/play in hardcoe mode. The way you want to play this is playing a "crappy character." There's absolutely no reason to take away features of the game.

Seriously though, if you want a harder game play on hard core on very hard. You don't have to limit yourself.

If you have even a little over average luck, it's pretty simple to make 100k in less than an hour. Making it pointless to loot just about anything in the game since everything will get paid for. When you play hardcoe, weight becomes a major issue and a 100k starting bankroll at level 1 almostly completely elimantes it.

the whole point of snipers is to get a one hit kill from far away without anyone knowing wtf happened. theres no need to "tone them down". why dont you remove the wheels from your car while youre at it? just dont use them at all.

why does everything have to be impossibly hard for some people? cant you just play the damn game, explore, kill stuff, and have fun?

seems like the only challenge you need is to stop giving a crap about difficulty and just have fun.

use nothing but brass knuckes and a chained prosttute outfit.

thats the jackpot. and its hard to get. even with a luck of 10.

if you want easy money play blackjack. with a high luck you always get 20 or 11 right away. then you double down on the 11 and almost always get something worth 10 or an ace

I don't have fun if the game isn't challening. If you do, that's fine. I don't. I'll stay in my thread, and you can make your own thread and you can stay in that one, ok?

And yes, sniper rifles are intended to inflict heavy damage from long range: and they do that without doing a sneak attack. Further, if you see someone shoot or if you dont see someone shoot you, the hole in your body doesn't know the difference, so ranged sneak attacks are completely stupid if you wanna argue "realism".

1 spin is not equal to 40k caps. Maybe 100 spins is but you may have gotten kicked out by then.
