ok, so im at the point in the game where im heading to the strip for the first time, and throughout the game, i have met victor the securitron following me to the towns i'm required to go to. friendly towns anyway..)
and...when im at the giant lake (which i THINK is behind the hoover dam) i find victor's corpse.
is he supposed to be dead? or...was it scripted that he die?
will he come back?

Well, if he ends up dead, that certainly changes some theories I have about him.

im not saying he is BOUND to die, im asking if he is SUPPOSED to, and if not, what did i do wrong?

No, I know what you meant. I was kind of extending the curiosity. I would like to know if he is scripted to die or if it was a glitch.

well i just checked the wiki, and it says if your just wondering around the area in between good springs and new vegas, he could pop up out of nowhere while your in the middle of combat and warn you not to go wondering....and then die....

I haven't made it that far yet. I've been taking it super slow.

I hope he doesn't die but then again I hope the game isn't bugging out on you too.

the game hasnt shown me any major bugs!
i have only had it freeze on me a few times, and that was a for a few seconds.
and then once i went to this legion town (forgot the name) and all of the vocal sound just turned off.
nothing a re-boot/re-load coldn't fix

I was heading for Freeside after Novac area was done and victor was at a train station. We talk, he splits, and I try to follow him, but he is speedy. Thanks to Ed-E I can kinda keep track of him for a while, and following his apparent path helps me miss some nasty groups of cazadors. Later when I get to freeside I spy Victor again, killing a raider! I lose him after looting, but it's almost as if he is showing me the safest route.

I did this too, but I was able to keep up with him and he led me to a lake, where a bunch of lakelurks came up and attacked us and victor was killed in the fight. It didn't say I failed a quest or anything, he was just dead, so I looted him. But I was wondering if this was supposed to happen or not.

In my game I ran into Victor just before Lake Mead and the NCR camp for the last time but later when I finnaly reached the strip he was dead on the steps to the Lucky 38 for some reason the moment I went inside the casino everything was hostile and no Mr.House on the computer this is prolly a bug and my advice is if Victor dies there s a good chance things will get screwy for you. Might wanna reload your last encounter with him this is a pretty serious bug issue.

Here's something that happened to me. A bit of a spoiler maybe. but might put your mind at ease.

I ran into Victor all along my Journeys, like everybody, and then he greeted me first thing when i entered the strip. My dialogue option was something like "But didn't you die?" which is weird, because I had never seen him die at all.

Anyway, he just explains that as long as there's another securotron somewhere he can move into it, switching between bodies and such, or something like that.

If you find him dead when you get to the strip though something is likely wrong.
