Video Games that you would play

Post » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:26 am

We've all got a game that we would love to play, but they don't actually exist, at least to our knowledge. For some reason, no game dev has ever made one!

Me? I've always wanted a first-person realistic ninja game, sort of like the Thief series but you're more aggressive. You would infiltrate, kill targets, burn castles down, steal plans or blueprints, etc, all from glorious first person fashion.

Another is a good first person RPG set in feudal Japan, of course, it could always have mythical creatures or monsters in it to change things up. It would have similar game play to TES or Fallout, with skills that one could level.

If anyone posts a game idea that you think HAS been made, please point them to the game!

Would have loved to see the completed version of Van Buren (the original Fallout 3) but I guess we have that in New Vegas.

You mean like Red Dead Redemption?

But, yeah, even with Red Dead and Call of Juarez, there still aren't enough western games.

I want a large open cyberpunk RPG. Kinda like Fallout 3, but in a futuristic metropolis, rather than the wasteland.

I would also want to see a mecha action game like Zone of the Enders, but one that takes place in a city. Most mecha action games are also in the wasteland, sort of. I was hyped about Armored Core V earlier, but my interest gone down since then. Seems to have too much focus on multiplayer.

Yeah. I want to be a gunfighter in the Old West.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlaws_(1997_video_game) is an excellent western FPS.

Dishonored?

Sure enough I'm going to get that game (like others have said, its basically Half Life + Thief + Deus Ex), but I was thinking more feudal Japan style ninja game. In this instance, the setting was what was important, not that it was a first person stealth game.

A FPS MMO, I was looking forward to Huxley, but I haven't heard anything about it in a long time.
A Mass Effect MMO, this actually could happen. I'll just have to wait and see.

There might be more I could think of, but those are the first couple to come to mind.

A cross between Civilization and Total War - Civ's randomly generated maps and empire building + TW's RTS combat and noble families.

Heh, that reminds me. Back before the 360 was even released there was a Xbox extremist here preaching that Huxley for the 360 would be the best thing ever. I wonder if he still feel that way? :P

Can't remember his username, though -_-

Reminds me of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1227182-state-your-dream-games/page__hl__games+that+don%26%2339%3Bt+exist. Interestingly, both OPs want a Feudal Japan RPG. Someone should get on that.

I want a Bethesda-style, open world action-RPG based on feudal Japan. I would want it to feature a highly/stylistically realistic art style and plenty of in-depth, accurate information about Japan during the feudal era to properly flesh out the gameworld. Obviously, the game, being Bethesda style, would not be able to realistically cover all of Japan, but given that Japan has a relatively small landmass as it is, I think Bethesda could scale it down and do it justice at the same time. Also, while simultaneously being historically and culturally accurate, I'd want the setting to also, obviously, have its fantastical and unrealistic elements such as demons and creatures straight out of Japanese mythology being brought to life in this pseudo-realistic, stylistically accurate world. I'd want the soundtrack to also be culturally based off of Japan by utilization of Japanese instruments and musical styles.

As is customary for any Bethesda-style game, exploration and plenty of content would be a given. I can't work out whether I'd want all the voiced dialogue to be in Japanese with subtitles, in English with as realistic of a Japanese accent present everywhere (except with some of the European traders/missionaries possibly in the game), or just in English with a Northern American accent. I stress the realistic art style as, contrary to actually Japanese games, I want to see Japan as it was. I'm asking for a Western style RPG taking in place in Japan... but I doubt I'll ever get such a game. Western developers seem focused on realistic fantasy settings based on medieval Europe, Japanese developers seem focused on completely styled and "cartoony" fantasy games (with the exception of a few such as Demon's Souls... but then that's still based on medieval European fantasy) that base nothing off of Japanese history and historical culture, and few developers anywhere beside Bethesda seem interested in making Bethesda-style games. I'd also a like Star Wars games following the same respective formula.

A sandbox RPG with zombies/ No not Dead Island that is not a true RPG imo.

A melee style FPS multiplayer game. (Like COD or BF3 but in medieval times with swords and spears).

Another type of sandbox RPG but in apocalyptic future that isn't caused by radiation and no SCIENCE! kind of technoloy.

Haha, SETI that sounds familiar. And I'm with you about the Feudal Japan thing. But for the most part, I don't want new games, I just want expanded older games.

A post apocalyptic team based RPG with co-op capability set in the Deathlands universe, the world would span the entire US.

I found this the other day - it came from an article called "Games I Want" I was writing for a computer magazine, but never finished. Thank GOD.

"#2 Career Ladder Pro

Okay, so you've played through many seasons of an EA Sports/Sega 2K/Sports Interactive game and watched as players retire. SI got it right by getting some of them to become coaching staff, but have you ever wanted to find out what happened to the rest?

Now you can control the rest. Playing a former all-star/pro/League Two wannabe, you reach the end of your career and suddenly have to find something to do. Will you go into commentary? Punditry? University? Obscurity? Bankruptcy? Or maybe run a small ice-cream van?

There would be no cushy life here. If you're crap, you get nothing. Which is what that shocking colour commentator on ITV Football should be getting."
