Long story short, I am in whiterun to fulfill a DB contract and also to mop up a couple RedGuard fellows who I am tired of seeing loiter around the town gates (don't understand why they haven't been arrested for lollygaggin).

The first redguard is stealthily killed but my attempt on the second dude triggers the guard and bounty. I used a bow and I hear a gravelly voice "murder, in cold blood" or something like that and I peek around the corner and see Vignar Gray-Mane attacking a town guard, not me! I didn't want the bounty and so I reloaded and was able to stealthily kill the second redguard (this too had a funny moment as a town guard stands right near these guys......I let my bow loose killing the redguard and I see the town guard run away from his post saying "i'm gettng outta here!").

My DB contact was for the hunter dude who also sells his meat in whiterun. I tried several spots but elected to snipe him between Belethor's and Arcadia's (my arrow would fly dangerously close to the guard that stand between the two shops) Again, I trigger the guards and who comes to my rescue? Vignar Gray-Mane has begun attacking town guards.....again! This old timer is awesome! I undersstand he becomes Jarl if you go stormcloack. Getting him into that job would be about the only reason I'd side with the 'cloaks and I am very tempted to do so. Nice to find friends out there when you least expect it.

Sounds like fun times in Whiterun. "You're lookin' at a real warrior. At least, I was," however that goes. Another reason to support the Stormcloaks is that the Gray-Manes aren't arrogant SOBs like the Battle-Borns (with the exception of the milk-drinking kid).
