VoIP issues - PS3

Post » Fri Jun 24, 2011 4:41 am

I seem to have an issue with the chat feature in this game that continues to get extremely frustrating. When in a public game with a specific friend, I cannot hear him and he cannot here me, regardless of game settings, fireteam, no fireteam, etc. Nothing works. I can hear everyone else in-game without any issues. He can hear everyone else in-game without any issue. His mic never shows active on my scoreboard. Mine never shows active on his scoreboard. What further confuses the hell out of us is we can play co-op campaign or challanges and have no problems with communication what so ever. This is only happening with one specific person and only during public games regardless of settings. This has gone on since day one and we have exhausted all options we can think of. What could possibly be causing this to happen? Any input at all or anyone else having similar problems with VoIP in this game? Thanks in advance for any input.

I have had the same experience. Sometimes it'll fix itself and others I'll go hours without hearing my buddy. It's a sad sort of funny cause I bought a brand new pair of TurtleBeaches after this game.....

Honestly, it has never worked. We have played at times for 3+ hours straight....never "fixes" itself. But at least I know we are not alone. Really enjoy playing this game, but it could be far more enjoyable if the simple things would work. Hopefully this is something to be addressed in the next patch/dlc.

That's a bummer. Can you hear your buddy at all or does it just go out? That's what happens with me. I'll be playing a few rounds then I can't hear him. I'll leave and rejoin him and everything is fixed. In the meantime we text battle plans to each other. :3

It has never worked once in a public game but will work everytime in a challange or campaign mission. We have gone to texting as well but what a pain.

Yeah especially when taking fire! Let's just pray the game isn't dead and we'll get a fix in a patch.

could not agree more. i too hope it does not fade out before the fixes. this game is so much more enjoyable than the "other" shooters out at the moment.

Agreed its got a lot going for it. Most people wanna dwell on the negatives and not look on the bright sides. Or they have unreasonable expectations of the game i.e. women characters. (I'd love to see some heavy ladies running around just as much as the next guy, but to bring that up as a valid complaint you have to look at ever other FPS on the market. They're all sausagefests!) or they just complain about cosmetic details. I always wonder if it would have shipped in pristine condition if they still would have liked it...

I'm sure once the new patch (if we get to see it) shows up a lot of these problems will be a thing of the past. :D

Could not have said it better myself. My initial complaints were the lack of stats, which has been addressed though somewhat limited(when the site works properly) and clan support, which is apparently coming down the pipeline. This game screams for clans. It's the ultimate team game which is what i find so enjoyable about it. I have a hard time putting it down honestly. Finding a few more people to play with would be ideal. I will certainly add you this afternoon.

Cool beans. I'm not on as much as I have been. (Waiting on DLC really) I've kinda nerded out too much on Dark Souls and have been playing Demon's Souls again. But if I see a handful of people online I'll have to hop on. I play with a few regulars and we'll be happy to add you to the fray and vice versa.

ps more stats would have been nice, but I really like the stat site. Kinda fills that need and ditto on clans!
