Gamers,

I am a long time lurker and heavy reader of these formurs. Sorry if I overlooked this topic in the past. I tried a search and could not find an answer to my question. I downloaded the Beta 1.4 patch but have not noticed any difference. I am lvl 58 with 210 days of in game play. Anyway, I have come across a situation that I do not know how to handle. I have consulted the wiki but could not find the answer. I usually use shouts in towns so I can receive messages from the greybeards to the location of new shouts. My most recent missive directed me to Volunruud. Evidently there is a dark brother hood quest here as well. I have finished the companion quests, mage guild quests, civil war quests, and 75 percent of the thiefs guild quest. I wanted to save the dark brotherhoold for last. Will I break the dark brotherhood quest if I enter Volunruud to get the word wall? I appreciate everyone's time and effort who respond.

I havent done any DB quests yet, not even the one you have to do to get kidnapped... And i already cleared valaruud... Do you know how far into the DB the quest is? Maybe ill do a test for you.

I wish I knew....I have not started any DB quests...the first one in Windlem (to kill a person from Riften) is still open. When I try to open the center door of Volunruud, I get a msg that states that I have started a quest for the dark brotherhood......I saved prior to that and reloaded....I have then avoided that area until I can get confirmation that I do not break that quest. I love Skyrim but am leary of starting quests until prompted to do so because of the various bugs.

Really? I never got this msg. Did you already speak to the boy?
