Walking to High Hrothgar @ night is amazing

This is probably by far my favorite spot in the entire game for immersiveness.

Walking all the way there from the bottom @ night with the wind gusting and blowing snow across the path and nothing but the sound of the wind....fantastic.

It's just so realistic as I have walked home before in the dark during the winter and it would be super cold and the wind would be blowing fierce and you could see the wind blowing off the tops of the mounds of snow just like in the game...

Sometimes I'll just leave the game sitting there just watching it.

By random chance, when I walked up there it was also night, with the moon out, and the aurora, and a few clouds, and all the wind. I love how the game does the changes from lower elevation to higher elevation. And then you turn the last corner and see the majesty of High Hrothgar against the dawn of a new day... Breathtaking.

Gorgeous. One of my favorite things. Until that stupid goat came along and ran into me. I did keep admiring the view alllllllllll the way down, though.

I tend to listen to a lot of ambient(ish) music when I play Skyrim and it makes for an amazing combo. If Bob Ross were alive I imagine he'd love playing Skyrim... if he could stand killing innocent animals, and humans for the first part of the game.

I enjoy being up after dark in Skyrim and wandering about looking for the aurora borealis. Best time I had was when I went outside up near Dawnstar at night and looked up at the sky when the score Secunda started to play and both Masser and Secunda were wreathed in the aurora. :tes:
