Wall carvings in hall of Stories

Post » Wed Jul 11, 2012 2:20 pm

Does anyone know what those carvings and murals on the walls on the Hall of Stories mean?

Anytime I am about to open on of those Dragon doors, I always pause to look at those wall carvings...

The game never says what they mean though

We talked about this on the lore forum a while back.

We speculated that they were the human forms of the animal totems of Atmora, because that's what was worshiped when the Halls of Stories were built.

You mean in the Nord tombs? I interpret them as an icon of the dude who's interred there. Usually there's some big-dog figure at the center and his attendants on the side.

To me they look Egyptian or Sumerian.

The figure in the middle is a Dragon Priest, at least on some of the carvings.

I agree with the Egyptian/Sumerian/Ancient Middle East association. Guess that style was the inspiration.
