Walmart Pre Order Problem

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:40 am

So I was just trying to pre order the Collectors Edition FO:NV for XBOX 360 and it would not allow me to have it shipped to the store. I want it shipped to the store because I have a PO Box and I do not want to wait for the post office to open. I would like to get this game at midnight and get the caravan pack as well.

I went into the store to pre order before I tried online (thats what I did with FO3) and I was told that I had to order it online. Did they change their policy? Or was the cashier just incompetent (she did give me a funny look :bonk: )?

She's just trying to horde all the Fallout-y goodness for herself. You can pre-order in store. I personally would just get it shipped. Even though you have to wait until it arrives in the mail, there's no feeling like receiving a package you've been anticipating. Taking it home from the store just makes me fidgety from anticipation. Not the best thing when you're driving.

20 caps says she's just trying to be lazy and not do work. TBH, as much as Gamestop charges, I go there when I pre-order, in that department I've always had alot of reliability, they also have some games decent priced. Anywho, enough billboarding, as I said, I think the lady was just thinking 'I'll just say I can't so he'll go away.'. Walmart is a good store, but the employees can be less than hospitable xD

I'm pretty sure you can only pre-order online for Wal Mart...

I would go to gamestop but it is over an hour away. I will just go back there and ask another person. I may just have to go and pick it up at Walmart and not get the pre order bonus.

How is Amazon about getting games to you on release day?

you know, if you order on-line and specify for a two day delivery, the game could get to you the day before release. thats what iv been doing for 2 years now.

the only problem this time is that the day before is i and my girlfriends anniversary. so i cant play.

Not all Walmart stores are the same. I pre-ordered online from Walmart (CE for PC), and it didn't have an in-store pickup option either, but shipping with guaranteed release day delivery was only 97 cents. People in another post said they were able to select the option for pickup in their store. I suspect this is because my Walmart only updates their game stock once a week, so new games may not be put on the shelf on release day.

Even if you did pre-order it for in store pickup, I doubt you could go in at midnight and get it. They probably won't even put them out until after 8-9am.
