want to get good at this

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:50 pm

I want to get very good at this game and encourage my clan buds to pick it up as the coop is sweet. I am getting better at it, but the free running, wallhopping, etc still eludes me to a degree. Anyone that is interested in helping me out to become better please send me an invite. I insist on keeping it clean and I play this month Mon thru Wed during the mornings. Im on xbox live as Snoopy0211. Thanks for the help and future comraderie.

The parkour challenge is good for practicing. I found that free running gets a lot easier and become more of a second nature once you familiarize yourself with the levels and maps. Good luck.

Get two stars on all the challenges, and you've have a good working knowledge of how to do most of what you'll need in the game. As a bonus for doing those up to the two stars, you'll have some sweet unlocks for your guns.

also explore, explore. check out the area near the side door on Container City,

and find a defensive position above the gate for snipers and grenadiers.

also i found that i was much more effective by changing my controller settings to the "Oh my gears" layout. Makes smart / slide moves much easier to do.

Only use the slide or melee as a sneak attack, don't run into fire trying to knock someone over. And while you're at it, learn to use jump and crouch instead of holding the SMART button. It's not as hard to master as you think, and it makes things a lot easier on you in the long run.

A few helpful hints;

Try to ambush ur target if the objective is'nt getting done, go beyond the warfront to hit the artilery so to speak.
USE SMART. I cant stress that any harder on new players, SMART will keep you alive unbeleivibly longer then you think.

Tap the button to sprint, then manually SMART instead of letting the game autopilot you through.

use slides (LB + B') to get the hell out of bad firefights and grab some breathing room.

I would suggest that on your free time, explore each map to see where you can better help out your team as well as yourself

100% dont use SMART as autopilot. Use sprint + Jump + crouch to do the free running. Very responsive and you can do some great moves during combat once you get used to it. I was recently able to take down 2 guys in seconds with half a clip on my SMG for the first then melee the next guy with a shotgun. Both of them were activly fireing at me but missed due to the free running.
