I want to kill more Thalmor!

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 2:24 pm

Like many of you, I despise the Thalmor far more than any other enemies or political factions. The game's various quest lines hint at the Thalmor's increasing infringement into Empire politics and affairs, and it's clear that they perceive all non-Thalmor individuals to be inferior.

That's why I can't help feeling disappointed that there were not more quests that involved dispatching these grey turds (Trust me, I've done them all.)

Maybe there's room for further Thalmor killing in DLC?

What do y'all think?

For how untouched they were for the main game, i'm almost certain they will appear in dlc. depending how far into the civil war or if its started or even finished, everyone will have to come together to defend or destroy the Thalmor. Just my guess, but maybe they play too big of a part in the lore of TES to include as the main enemy in future dlc... i don't know :P

Worshiping of Talos is strictly forbidden!

Sorry...I couldn't resist the temptation.

If only they had stayed in their verdant green forests....

Now I have to slay them in Talos' holy name for trying to diminish his followers.

Second Great War. You fight the thalmor (unless you're an elf..Shame on you if you are) and its a war across ALL of tamriel. Like you don't just defend Skyrim, but no matter what the Thalmor should dominate. But then you heroically defend solitude only to find out that it was all a distraction. They've seiged the imperial city! And then you barely keep it from being over ran, and the city is still left in a horrible condition. Finally you learn of an ancient hidden weapon deep beneath the surface in a long forgotten Dwemer Ruin, you fight your way to it AND BAM. You discover where the Dwemer have been all these years, defending said weapon.

I'd like that. J'derras is from Hammerfell. But to keep the roleplaying, I hope not Dragonstar, since it would break immersion for me to visit my hometown in game.

Grey? Altmer are gold. The Dunmer are grey.

Except Dunmer. They've always been against the Altmer, ever since they left the Isles so they could worship Daedra. And just because someone is an Altmer or Bosmer doesn't mean they're loyal to the Dominion. Not every Imperial is loyal to the Emperor.

I play as Imperial with 2H/light armor and am currently wearing Elven armor so I am starting to look more Thalmor-like. Since I plan on joining Legion I have this vague half-mystery when I look at my guy as to what motivates him :)

I agree. It's a noble cause as well.

So be it. The will of Talos shall drive my blade into the evil hearts of the Thalmor.

And then a Khajiit assassin of the Dominion will do the same to you.

The dragonborn? Assassinated by a large cat? I think not. Especially not one in the service of altmer weaklings...

Indeed. It will take more than an amateur assassin to stop the combined will of Akatosh, Kynareth and Talos.

Though it does make me curious as to what drives the Thalmor's arrogance. Would they defy the gods themselves to serve their foolish vision of "ascension"?

I have a feeling life for the Thalmor is far worse in Hammerfell than Skyrim.

Skyrim:
"Oh look a Thalmor agent, sadly we can not kill him."

Hammerfell:
"Thalmor! (Thalmor carried away & hanged)"

I wonder what the difference is..

If the will of the Man was so strong, he'd be able to protect his followers. In fact...since he'd be the only Divine unaffected by the creation of the world... he'd have the ability to protect his followers.

Ha! It's more along the lines of this:

Skyrim:
"Great, another Thalmor toadie. Just nod your head and walk away."

Hammerfall:
"Hey, a Thalmor! Should I use the Axe or the Mace this time?"

Which is evidence that the worship of Talos is bad.

That you would presume to understand Talos' powers only shows your ignorance. The Gods, while not as powerful as the Daedra, do act.

Tell me, who do you think had a hand in the events of each and every single TES game? Talos is the patron of questers and heroes. You think this coincidence?
