I want my money back!

I was looking forward to 3 games this year. Brink, Forza, battlefield.
Brink had the potential to be amazing. I ignored the reviews on the internet saying the story was lacking, because I bought the game for online play - but online play is pathetic. Even the 'big teams' mode usually only has 3 human players, and the rest of the game is full of pathetically easy bots. It feels like I'm playing against meat sims in Perfect Dark on N64.

REMOVE THE BOTS! Don't just make them harder!!! I would rather play against 1 or 2 human opponents in a game than play against AI. AI is for campaign or offline gameplay - No matter how hard they play, or how 'smart' they're coded, they're still just practice targets and nothing more.

Honestly Splash Damage - I still rank one of the best games I've ever played as Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. I was expecting this to be what the preview videos showed, which I was expecting a Wolf ET like objective based online game play with a good theme and some character customisation. Instead, because of the addition of bots to online games, obviously to pad out servers, I feel like I'm playing a Nintendo 64 game. In my opinion, this game is actually a few steps back from WolfET.

I just hope somebody can take the idea of the only good part of this game (the SMART system) and put it in to a worth while game.

I just hope I can pull it out of the back of the drawer enough times in the next 6 months to at least get 8 hours of game play total and try to make it not a complete waste of time.
I hope some decent patches will be sent out to fix all of the issues.

How? The UI isn't really what you'd call simple. I thought I'd explored all options.

:toughninja: Lots of folks are grumbling about lag - can't say I've seen much myself. As for posts like these, why do folks bother to register and post simply to complain? Baffles me......

I read these posts to see if folks have some killer glitches I haven't triggered yet, but it's just Lag grumbles or 'this isn't enough like COD' posts so far.

To get rid of bots and play only humans play Old School or Competition. I have never seen a bot in there before. I believe because the Min. Team Size is 2 so as long as theres 2 players that means no bots will take over.
Not to sure how it works but we was playing Old School and was a full 8v8 (all humans). Well we was holding them back so well all 8 people left on the offencive team and no bots came in. So me and another guy hopped teams and ended up winning with the help of a few other humans that spawned in later on.
Your reason for a refund is easly avoidable.

because forums are for both sides of the story..why would anyone try to stifle bad opinions? these forums are full of people that paid 65 bucks or less for a PC copy just like you..why cant they vent and complain if they dont feel satisfied? whats even worse is when people that dont agree with the person who complains or praises the game is the fact that they then post a reply that they know will invoke a hostle response..at anyrate if you feel like this is a complete game then you need to go back to the early videos on this very website and even the launch trailer and look at what all was cut out..even the beta game play videos look better than the released game..i still like the game and the fact that the first DLC pack is free pleases me greatly..but anyone that is satisfied with 8 missions thats span across both multiplayer and single player would probbaly be just as happy playing checkers on the back porch..8 missions played one way then the exact same missions just played in the other directions...then the 2 what if missions that are the exact same missions you already played just the cinematic plays out different when you win or lose..takes about 3hrs of steady game play to finish the game on medium...not any where near 65 dollars woth of content..seems to me the disc game is getting samller and smaller cause the conusmers are so willing to pay out another 50-60 bucks over the next 6 months for DLC to complete the game..Not one fallout title has ever been like that..or Elder scrolls or any other game with a bethesda logo on it...Bethesda really allowed SD to drop the ball on this one and i myself am truely disappointed

this game is completely unfinished.
Lag issues
Terrible graphic issues
bugged sound
spawn problems

It is pathetic excuse of a release and I would like my money back too. I feel like I got slapped in the face for buying something so unfinished.

I have mine set to my rank or higher.

I'm not complaining that it's not "COD-like" enough - I actually don't like COD. Because of the lack of objective based online play, and teeny tiny maps. I don't enjoy every game being 16 people running aimlessly shooting at anything that moves. It's just my opinion, but it bores me. That's where I was looking forward to brink. It's one step above BC2, where you're at least actually using classes for class dependant objectives.

The reason for joining to basically complain is to see if there's any options I can pick to get around the worst bits of it. I have been looking forward to Brink since all anyone knew about it was that it was a Slash Damage multiplayer game in the works. After loving the ET series, I was pumped. I'd also assume that Splash Damage and Bethesda are keeping an eye on forums like this to gauge reactions - so if I'm one of many to voice the hate for bots, they may look at alternatives or at least advertising the fact in the game mode screen - much like the way they found out about the lag issues.

Modern gaming has evolved. It's not like PS1 or N64 where a game was released and that was it - if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. If there's a glitch, they have just have to fix it up and write off all games that had been sold so far to start selling the new disk/cartidge. With the relative ease of releasing updates these days, game developers rely on feedback to find out what needs tweaking within their product. We're not in a "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" world anymore. I'm not being negative for the sake of being negative. I'm giving feedback on the issues I see with what could potentially be a great game. If there was no hope for it at all, I'd just take it back, or resell it on ebay, cut my losses and just go back to playing bad company 2.

I'm over in Australia. Even with the strong dollar, Brink was worth $80. My general view is that if I play enough to cost me $5 per hour, then it's not a complete waste of money - regardless of game mode.

I agree completely with Importalprime, and the reason as I've already said - the reason I'm so disappointed is because this is a game that had worlds of potential to be something completely new and ground breaking.

Hey....go check the Fallout New Vegas 360 technical support forums....Now are you surprised? Bethesda has made a habit of releasing games that still need another good 6 to 12 months of work.
